South Africa have included Shaun Pollock in a 12-man squad for the first Test against New Zealand.
The veteran all-rounder is the one addition to the team that secured a 1-0 series victory in Pakistan recently.
Graeme Smith's side managed to record a 160-run win in the opening Test in Karachi before playing out a draw in the second match at Lahore.
Pollock - who has taken 416 wickets - had never been dropped before in his 107-Test career.
However, he is expected to win a recall to the starting XI at the Wanderers Stadium with the Proteas likely to favour an all-seam attack.
"The team deserves a full vote of confidence after their magnificent series win in Pakistan," South African chief selector Joubert Strydom said.
South Africa squad: Herschelle Gibbs, Graeme Smith, Hashim Amla, Jacques Kallis, Ashwell Prince, AB de Villiers, Mark Boucher, Andre Nel, Paul Harris, Dale Steyn, Makhaya Ntini, Shaun Pollock.
