South Africa have called up five players including Johan Botha for the one-day leg of their tour of Pakistan.
Off-spinner Botha returns to the international fold for the first time since being cleared of throwing by the ICC in November 2006.
"Johan Botha will provide the specialist spin option and, of course, he also gives us an additional all-rounder," selection convenor Joubert Strydom was quoted as saying in a Cricket South Africa media release.
Justin Kemp, Charl Langeveldt, Albie Morkel and Vernon Philander are also selected as part of a 14-man squad for the five-match series.
The Proteas are currently engaged in the second of two Tests in Pakistan, after which Hashim Amla, Ashwell Prince, Paul Harris and Dale Steyn will return home to make way for the one-day specialists.
The opening two games of the one-day series take place in Lahore on October 18 and 20, followed by matches in Faisalabad (Oct 23), Multan (Oct 26) and Karachi (Oct 29).
South Africa squad: Graeme Smith (captain), Johan Botha, Mark Boucher, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, Justin Kemp, Charl Langeveldt, Albie Morkel, Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini, Vernon Philander, Shaun Pollock
