NatWest Pro40 - Division One Taunton Lancashire Lightning 254-6 Innings Complete (V V S Laxman 85 no) v Worcestershire Royals 255-4 (S M Davies 83, G A Hick 50 no) Worcestershire beat Lancashire by 6 wkts Worcestershire remain top of division One of the Pro40 after a convincing victory in their 'home' game at Taunton. Chasing 255 for victory, the Royals were indebted to Stephen Davies' 83 at the top of the chase, before Graeme Hick took over with an unbeaten 50 to see them home with room to spare. Lancashire had Indian Test star VVS Laxman to thank to their score of 254-6, hitting 85 from 86 balls including eight boundaries. He added 96 for the third wicket with Dominic Cork (39), 49 with Mark Chilton (29) and un unbeaten 30 with Glen Chapple. However, Davies and Vikram Solanki started brightly before the latter dragged the ball for 36, but even the introduction of Muttiah Muralitharan had little impact. Davies brought up the 100 before Murali had him caught and bowled, while Gary Keedy claimed both Moeen Ali and Ben Smith. However, Hick came together with Pakistan's Abdul Razzaq and the pair ticked off the runs with assurance - even though Razzaq was dropped on the boundary. Hick's 50 came off 46 balls while Razzaq's 35 came from 26 deliveries.
