Is this the most painful trophy presentation ever? Notts captain Dan Christian gets a T20 blast to the face

Notts captain Dan Christian may have been left more hurt by lifting the T20 Blast trophy than the defeated Birmingham Bears watching on...

The Australian's side had just come through two nail-biting matches to clinch an enthralling T20 Finals day with victory at Edgbaston on Saturday, but the Outlaws' celebrations left Christian black and blue.

With his team already bouncing behind him, Christian collected the trophy to a chorus of noise around the stadium, but behind the champagne he could just be made out clutching at his eye while his team-mates danced around him.

On closer inspection, Christian's trophy lift showed the skipper took a palpable knock to the face as the prize was hurriedly handed over to him.

The bruising did not stop there, either, with Stuart Broad offering little sympathy for Christian on social media as he posted a picture of the 34-year-old's swelled eye early on Sunday morning.
