•

    Over 29: Johnson 0-4-0-1-0-1

141-5 - Wright counters Clarke's move to post a slip for Johnson by slapping the left-armer on the up through the covers for a welcome boundary. Two singles off the over bring that target a little closer, you can't help but feel we're in for a frantic finish to this game.

  •

    Over 28: Bracken 1-2-2-1-0-0

135-5 - Wright gets a pair of twos as third man is far too deep, particularly for a bowler of Bracken's pace. The equation is now 115 off 22 overs - least we not forget that England also have a batting power play up their sleeve. What are the odds on it being taken too late in the day to make a difference?

  •

    Over 27: Johnson 0-0-0-W-0-0

129-5 - WICKET! - Morgan is on his way back for 14 after being adjudged leg before by umpire Tony Hill. The official's decision is just about right as Hawk Eye shows Johnson's inswinger was clipping the outside half of the left-hander's leg stump. That wicket has certainly made this game interesting. Luke Wright is in at seven - does he stick or twist with so much in the balance?

  •

    Over 26: Bracken 0-0-0-0-2-0

129-4 - Bracken concedes only two runs but England still just need 121 from 144 balls. A wicket would make this match extremely interesting but right now the hosts are favourites. Having said Lilly Allen was the most spotted celeb at cricket matches these days, we've just discovered Mick Jagger is possibly still leading the way having been sighted in the stands.

  •

    Over 25: Johnson 2-4-0-1-2-1

127-4 - England get 10 runs off the first over back from Johnson, including a lucky boundary for Morgan when he under-edges a short ball back past his stumps and just wide of the desperate dive from wicketkeeper Paine. England are halfway through with their overs and just over halfway through with their run-chase.

  •

    Over 24: Bracken 0-1w-0-0-1lb-2-0

117-4 - Bracken returns to the attack and only concedes two off the bat, though there is a wide and a leg bye in the over. England now need another 133 to win this match. Chandni has been back in touch to vent her anger at another slow-paced innings from Bopara. Feel free to suggest who you would have opening the batting instead by e-mailing in to rob.lancaster@bskyb.com.

  •

    Over 23: Watson 0-0-1-4-0-1

113-4 - Morgan gives a statement of his intent by slapping away a rank long hop from Watson. The left-hander hit it so well the ball went to the right of mid-wicket. The bowler looked shocked at what had happened, clearly not expecting an international batsman to punish a medium-paced short ball.

  •

    Over 22: Hauritz 0-1-1-1-0-0

105-4 - Eoin Morgan gets off the mark from his second delivery and a single off the next ball for Collingwood takes him through to 4,000 ODI runs in his career. Only four batsmen have scored more for England in this form of the game.

  •

    Over 21: Watson 0-2-0-4-0-0

103-4 - England's century comes up with a Collingwood boundary, Watson paying the price for dropping short as he's pulled away through backward square leg. England now need another 147 runs from 29 overs. What they also need is someone to take control of this innings.

  •

    Over 20: Hauritz 0-0-4-1-1-W

97-4 - WICKET! - The 'Shah shimmy' may not sweep through the dancefloors of Great Britain but we've just seen a cracking version of it here at Lord's. Called through for a single by Collingwood, the Middlesex batsman takes a few steps, hesitates in the middle, then starts running again. Sadly he's not even close to making his ground when wicketkeeper Paine whips off the bails. England are making a right mess of this run chase.

  •

    Over 19: Watson 0-4-0-0-1-1

91-3 - Shah steps forward and drives superbly down the ground to spoil Watson's bowling analysis, though even by the end of the over he's still got the excellent figures of 2-8. Collingwood bunts a straight ball into mid-wicket to get off the mark from the second delivery he's faced.

  •

    Over 18: Hauritz 1-4-0-1w-1-W-0

85-3 - WICKET! - A long over from Hauritz ends with the wicket of Strauss, who tamely goes when a leading edge just carries back to the bowler. His concentration may have been broken by the fly-by from a Lancaster Bomber which resulted in two standing ovations from the crowd as it travelled over the ground. The England players are also out on the balcony to witness the event, though they ought to now focus on the job in hand - another 165 needed.

  •

    Over 17: Watson W-0-0-0-1-1

78-2 - WICKET! - It's elementary for Watson, as he picks up a second wicket by getting Prior caught behind for one. That was not a pretty shot from the Sussex player; he was just hanging his bat away outside off stump trying to get the ball down to third man. Watson now has remarkable figures of 2-2 from two overs. What makes them even more remarkable is he's only taken 76 ODI wickets in 80 matches.

  •

    Over 16: Hauritz 0-1-0-1-0-0

76-1 - Hauritz pegs back his figures by conceding just two runs. The decision to bat Prior at three is an interesting one - this of course would usually be Kevin Pietersen's position in the one-day team. England do at least have an extra batsman in their line-up today to try and chase down Australia's total of 249.

  •

    Over 15: Watson 0-0-0-0-W-0

74-1 - WICKET! - The opening stand comes to an end as Watson gets Bopara leg before looking to work a straight ball to mid-wicket. The Essex batsman had twice attempted to come down the pitch before instead trying to flick it away to leg. He departs for 27 off 44 balls, another decent start with a disappointing ending. It ends up being a wicket maiden from Watson, who I seem to remember used to be quick at one stage in his career.

  •

    Over 14: Hauritz 1-1-1-1-0-0

74-0 - England milk four singles off Hauritz, both batsmen looking to work the off-spinner through the mid-wicket/square leg region. The home side need a further 176 as Shane Watson comes into the attack.

  •

    Over 13: Hopes 4-0-4-0-1-0

70-0 - Hopes continues to be expensive, leaking two boundaries in his third over. Strauss gets both of them, guiding/edging a full delivery away to the fine leg fence before hitting his second in much more convincing fashion, pulling a short delivery through mid-wicket.

  •

    Over 12: Hauritz 0-0-1-2-1-4

61-0 - It is spin in the second power play and Bopara is up for the challenge, coming down the wicket to drive for a single before finishing Hauritz's opening over with a cracking slog sweep that sends the ball whizzing away to the mid-wicket boundary.

  •

    Over 11: Hopes 1w-0-4-1-4-1

53-0 - England's 50 comes up as both Strauss and Bopara pick up boundaries in a pretty poor over of medium pace from Hopes. The hosts now need a further 197 with all 10 wickets still in hand. Nathan Hauritz seems to be warming up in the deep, has Michael Clarke decided to gamble on bowling his spinner during the fielding restrictions?

  • Power Play

Australia have given the order to take their five-over power play. It will be Hopes to bowl the first over during it.

  •

    Over 10: Johnson 4-1-1-0-1-1

42-0 - Bopara finally finds the middle of his bat, pumping away a delivery from Johnson that is too short and too wide - basically it wasn't very good. That's the end of the mandatory 10 overs of fielding restrictions at the start of the innings. England managed four boundaries in that time.

  •

    Over 9: Hopes 0-1-0-0-0-1

34-0 - After trying and failing to knock Hopes over the top Bopara has to settle for a scampered single into the mid-wicket region. This is starting to feel like Groundhog Day here, and that's not because Bill Murray is in the ground. Lilly Allen is, though, and has now taken over from Mick Jagger and John Major as the most spotted celeb in the crowd.

  •

    Over 8: Johnson 0-1-0-0-0-0

32-0 - A single means England are cruising along at four runs an over - the required rate is now at 5.19. So, with James Hopes about to come into the attack for the Aussies, what do we reckon? Can England win this match? Will one of their batsmen actually do their jobs and see this innings through? Have your say by e-mailing in to rob.lancaster@bskyb.com.

  •

    Over 7: Lee 0-0-3-0nb-1-1-1

29-0 - Having swished across the line at a short ball at the start of the over Bopara decides he's much better off playing it with a straight bat, punching one off the back foot through the covers for three. Lee is finally caught out for over-stepping but Strauss fails to connect with the free hit, bunting it to cover for a single.

  •

    Over 6: Johnson 0-0-1-1-1-4

22-0 - Australia make an early change but the decision to bring on Johnson seems to break the shackles. Strauss and Bopara both pick up easy singles before the former whips away the last delivery, showing just how good his form is right now by flicking the ball off middle stump. England need another 228.

  •

    Over 5: Lee 0-0-1-0-1w-0-1

15-0 - There's ironic cheers for Bopara as he eventually gets off the mark from the 10th ball he's faced, and even then it was an inside edge that only missed leg stump by an inch or two. Having said earlier that Lee is close to the front line television replays pick up that he's over-stepped on one occasion, though the umpire failed to spot it.

  •

    Over 4: Bracken 0-4-0-0-0-1

12-0 - Strauss continues to hog the strike, facing all six deliveries from Bracken and then making sure he will be facing again for the next over with a single off the last. However, he did also hit a boundary, clipping away a ball that was far too straight. England need a further 238 to win this match.

  •

    Over 3: Lee 0-0-0-0-1-0

7-0 - Lee's roaring in here, getting very close to no-balling in the process, as England make a circumspect start to their run chase. With the rate at just 5.13, there's no need to panic just yet.

  •

    Over 2: Bracken 0-0-4-1-0-0

6-0 - Having missed out on a short delivery earlier in the over Strauss doesn't make the same mistake second time around, hammering away a ball from Bracken that deserved to go to the fence.

  •

    Over 1: Lee 1-0-0-0-0-0

1-0 - Strauss gets England off and running with a single from the first ball and then leans on his bat to watch Bopara grope at a beauty that pitches on off stump and moves away late. Just a single off the first over - the hosts cannot afford to let themselves labour along like they did in the series opener.

  • Lunch

So we will have a break now in between innings. England are going to get the chance to right the wrongs from Friday with the bat, though they will perhaps wonder how they are chasing so many having at one stage had the tourists on 208-8.

  •

    Over 50: Sidebottom 1-4-1lb-1-2-2

249-8 - Johnson keeps swinging but doesn't manage to make too much contact, in fact one thin edge runs away past Prior for four during a last over that yielded 11. Having struggled for long periods of that innings Australia have ended up with 249-8, leaving England needing five-an-over to level the series.

  •

    Over 49: Anderson 2-1-4-1w-4-2-0

238-8 - Johnson shows he's not all about crash, bang, wallop, flicking away a full ball from Anderson past the short fine leg. He then crashes a second four through mid-wicket in a style we're more accustomed to seeing from him. This innings is now his best in one-day cricket and Australia have managed 40 runs for the loss of two wickets in the batting power play.

  •

    Over 48: Sidebottom 1-2-1-0-2-2

224-8 - Johnson and Sidebottom are involved in a game of cat and mouse. With the field up on the off side the left-hander wants to hit away through the covers, only the bowler won't allow that by pitching it well down the leg side to counter the backing away. In the end the over costs eight and we have just one more left with the power play restrictions.

  •

    Over 47: Anderson 0-0-0-1w-4b-1-1

216-8 - Johnson gets just one ball in the over - the last - though Australia still pick up runs thanks to Anderson's wayward yorker beating Prior, who has had an otherwise excellent day behind the stumps, and running away for four byes.

  •

    Over 46: Sidebottom 4-2-1-W-0-1

209-8 - WICKET! Johnson blazes away against Sidebottom but Lee can't follow suit, only slicing a drive off the left-armer straight to Owais Shah, who is stationed at cover right on the edge of the fielding circle. We're now deep into the power play overs and Australia are relying on their tail to do all the damage.

  •

    Over 45: Anderson 1-1-0-1w-W-0-0

201-7 - WICKET! - Ferguson's fun is over with the bat for today as Anderson cleans him up with a full delivery that rattles into middle stump. It was a good length to hit too but the right-hander simply swished at thin air. The Burnley Express greets Brett Lee with a cracking short ball as only three runs come from the first over of the power play.

  • Power Play

Australia have finally decided to use their five-over spell before it has to be taken. With Johnson in, this is a dangerous time for England.

  •

    Over 44: Wright 1lb-3-4-1-4-2

198-6 - Ferguson goes through to a second successive half-century with a top-edged hook off Wright for four. This is his fifth ODI 50 and follows on from his unbeaten 71 at The Brit Oval on Friday. With Johnson picking up nine runs off the over, Wright leaks 15 off his 10th to finish with figures of 2-52.

  •

    Over 43: Swann W-0-1-1-1-1

183-6 - WICKET! - Swann strikes again, Hopes the man to go as umpire Gould eventually raises his finger to agree with the loud leg before appeals. The right-hander was attempting a sweep and was hit bang in front of middle around shin height. Mitchell Johnson is the next man in at eight and nearly gets himself run out trying to get off the mark.

  •

    Over 42: Wright 0-0-0-4-2-2

179-5 - Having played-and-missed at the first two deliveries and then patted back the third, Ferguson decides the time is right to open up. A short ball is whacked away backward of square for four, then he comes down the wicket and slices a drive down to third man for a couple more. Two further runs follow off the last delivery - is this a signal that the powerplay is coming?

  •

    Over 41: Swann 0-2-0-0-0-0

171-5 - Jimmy's day is going from bad to worse. His bowling hasn't been at his best and his fielding has been well below his usual high standards. This time he fails to lay a finger on a Hopes sweep, though in fairness the ball did take a nasty hop of a wicket end. The two runs are all that come off the over, though, as Australia become a little bogged down.

  •

    Over 40: Wright 0-0-1-1-1-0

169-5 - Wright comes back on and continues from where he left off earlier in the day, conceding just three singles. He also beats the edge of Ferguson's bat with a beauty to finish his eighth over.

  •

    Over 39: Swann 0-0-4-0-1-2

166-5 - Hopes sweeps with such accuracy that it beats the diving Anderson at backward square leg as well as Shah, who seems to go down in installments, out on the mid-wicket fence. With a couple off the last delivery down to fine leg a total of seven come from Swann's sixth over.

  •

    Over 38: Bopara 0-1-0-1-1-1

159-5 - Bopara's now through three overs for 12 runs and has picked up the scalp of the in-form White. Australia now have to decide about this batting powerplay with Hopes in now and sluggers Johnson and Lee to come.

  •

    Over 37: Swann 0-0-0-1-1-W

155-5 - WICKET! - Swann reminds everyone of his talents by bowling Hussey with a beauty. The left-hander had seen little turn so played inside the line of a delivery that spun past his outside edge and hammered into the top of off stump.

  •

    Over 36: Bopara 1-0-0-0-1-1

153-4 - Bopara concedes only three singles - Australia are now going along at 4.25 an over. If they can lift that run-rate up to six they'll end up with 237.

  •

    Over 35: Swann 0-1-1-0-1-0

150-4 - Swann appeals for an lbw that has absolutely no chance of being given against Hussey - at least it stopped any thoughts of a quick single. Chandni has been in touch to ask for an apology for my incorrect spelling of their name. Fair enough, but will you say sorry for suggesting Bopara should've been left out after his contribution with the ball? I await your response.

  •

    Over 34: Bopara W-1-1-1-1-1

147-4 - WICKET! - Ol' Golden Arm strikes straight away for England. Bopara comes on and immediately removes White, who gets a thin edge through to Prior attempting to run the medium-pacer's first delivery down towards third man. That's a timely breakthrough for England that ends a fourth-wicket stand of 69. Hussey is in at six and immediately off and running - quite literally - as five singles come from the rest of the over.

  •

    Over 33: C'wood 0-1-4-0-1-1

142-3 - For those who thought England weren't playing two spinners Collingwood is basically bowling fast offies today. With that in mind Ferguson's hit over extra cover, which sees him back away to give himself room to get underneath the ball, even more impressive against the 'spin'. This pair have now put on 69 in just under 14 overs.

  •

    Over 32: Swann 1-0-0-1-1-1

135-3 - The crowd go up for a catch when Prior comes around to take the ball but the ball has failed to hit White's bat, instead rolling off his front pad and ballooning into the air towards where short leg would be. White proceeds to attempt to hit the next ball back to The Brit Oval but only manages a thick inside edge for no runs. After that failed heave he decides to go back to milking singles instead.

  •

    Over 31: C'wood 0-1-1-1-1-0

131-3 - Collingwood's not having a good day of it in the field. Having knocked a cut past Morgan earlier in the day and fumbled a run-out chance in Swann's last over, he's now been nutmegged by a mis-hit drive that costs him a needless single. Off the final delivery he does manage to make a stop, bringing a wry smile to his face and a celebratory fist pump.

  •

    Over 30: Swann 1-4-1-1-1-1

127-3 - White sweeps powerfully away for four to bring up the 50 stand for the fourth wicket. The runs have come in good time too, it's taken this pair just 62 deliveries to bring up the milestone. Swann leaks nine from the over as the television cameras cut to Rashid sitting on the sidelines.

  •

    Over 29: C'wood 4-0-0-0-0-1

118-3 - Ferguson feasts on a full ball from Collingwood, making the most of mid-off being up inside the circle to drive wide of him for four. However, the Aussie only manages another single off the over and five runs is just fine for England right now. Chandri is still furious at Rashid's omission, suggesting that Ravi Bopara should have been left out instead.

  •

    Over 28: Swann 0-0-1-0-1-0

113-3 - So it is time for some spin as Swann comes on with an almost identical field to Collingwood's (very) medium pace. Strauss seems to feel pace off the ball is the way to go having seen the seamers leak a few boundaries in recent times.

  •

    Over 27: C'wood 0-1-1-0-0-0

111-3 - Collingwood comes into the attack (still no sign of any spin today) and starts by giving up just two singles from his first over. Remember Australia still have a powerplay to go, it will be interesting to see when they chose to take it with the likes of James Hopes and Mitchell Johnson down the order capable of some big hitting.

  •

    Over 26: Wright 4-1-0-0-0-1

109-3 - Ferguson gets in on the boundary fun, pushing a full delivery down the ground for a four that looked like it could be cut off at any point by Swann, only for him not to bother with a dive. It was similar to watching Dick Dastardly trying to catch up with that messenger pigeon.

  •

    Over 25: Anderson 1-0-1-4-0-4

103-3 - White's beginning to go through the gears, a lovely straight drive on the up nutmegging Anderson and going away to the fence. He also finishes the over with a flourish, leaning forward and hitting away through cover this time, the four runs bringing up Australia's century as we reach the midway point of this innings.

  •

    Over 24: Wright 0-1-0-4-0-1w-1

93-3 - White hits Wright - the Aussie has had enough of the short stuff and takes on the bouncer, hammering it away just backward of square for the first boundary since the 18th over. The sun is threatening to make an appearance in London after an overcast morning. There shouldn't be an issue with rain, though, so we should get a full match in.

  •

    Over 23: Anderson 2-0-0-1-0-1

86-3 - Anderson returns to the attack having started with a four-over spell with the new ball. He leaks four runs in his first over back, England are more than happy to let their opponents tick over with ones and twos. Ray feels that no Ponting means there's no point to these ODI's. Never fear, Australia's skipper will be back to lead his country for the fourth match of the series.

  •

    Over 22: Wright 0-1-1-0-0-1

82-3 - Wright now has the excellent figures of 2-14 from his five overs. He's considerably quicker than you may think, his bustling run up allowing him to get it into the mid 80's on the speed gun.

  •

    Over 21: Bresnan 0-0-0-1-0-1w-2

79-3 - It's all gone quiet over here - despite the fact England are firmly on top. If Australia continue at their current rate they'll end up with 188. Six-an-over from here on in gets them 253. They'll want at least 210+ because the pitch has not been to blame for any of the dismissals so far today.

  •

    Over 20: Wright W-1lb-0-0-1-0

75-3 - WICKET! - Wright strikes again, getting the big wicket of Clarke with a cracking bumper. Australia's stand-in skipper attempts to hook the ball down towards fine leg but instead only gloves it through to Matt Prior behind the stumps. The tourists have now lost three for 11. Callum Ferguson is the new man at five and gets welcomed to the middle with a short delivery that strikes him on the shoulder.

  •

    Over 19: Bresnan 0-1-0-1-0-1

73-2 - It's good to see that England aren't just going through the motions in the middle overs. Those two quick wickets have allowed Strauss to go on the attack - he's stationed a short cover for Clarke and also has a slip in at the start of the over. Australia are dribbling along at 3.84 an over.

  •

    Over 18: Wright 1-4-0-0-0-0

70-2 - Cameron White gets a fortunate boundary with an outside edge beats the far-too wide third man, which happens to be the rather sluggish Owais Shah. Blake's been in touch to let me know he's stuck in Holland visiting the in-laws and apparently this isn't going live on Dutch television. Meanwhile, Geraint thinks Brian should put his foot down and take back the television - easier said than done Geraint.

  •

    Over 17: Bresnan 0-0-0-0-1-0

65-2 - Clarke gets off the mark with a flick down to fine leg after being welcomed to the crease by Bresnan with an excellent short ball. The Yorkshire seamer follows up the bumper with a beauty that pitches on off stump and moves away past the outside edge.

  •

    Over 16: Wright 1-0-1-0-0-W

64-2 - WICKET! - Paine's agony is over as he lofts a flick a long way into the air out to deep mid-wicket, allowing Eoin Morgan to move around and take a tough catch with ease. Brian is stuck on the computer due to the fact his daughter is dominating the television. Apparently it was either this or hours of the Disney Channel.

  •

    Over 15: Bresnan 0-1-1-1-W-0

62-1 - WICKET! - Watson goes again after making a decent start, driving on the up towards the end of the second power play but hitting the ball too closely to Luke Wright at short extra cover. The fielder leaps to his right to take a good catch and give England a first breakthrough.

  •

    Over 14: Wright 0-0-1-2-0-0

59-0 - Luke Wright comes on to give Sidebottom a break and starts with a steady over that leaks just the three runs. The Sussex all-rounder managed just one over for nine at The Brit Oval but his positive beginnings suggest he should get more than six balls this time around.

  •

    Over 13: Bresnan 0-0-1-0-1-1

56-0 - The running between the wickets continues to get no better between this pair - and it always seems like it's poor Paine who's left running to the danger end. Charlie's been in touch from Dubai - he's stuck at work because the week begins out there on Sunday. The weekend happens to be Friday and Saturday (you learn something new every day).

  •

    Over 12: Sidebottom 1-1-0-0-4-0

53-0 - Australia's half-century comes up in style as Watson slams away a wide ball from Sidebottom. It's all been a little quiet over here; the Aussies are making runs at an easy pace and England don't seem to be too bothered about that. It all feels a little bit like after the Lord Mayor's Show with this series.

  •

    Over 11: Bresnan 0-2-1-0-0-1

47-0 - A much better over from Bresnan, who has quickly realised there's no value on this wicket for dropping short. Despite his improvements Australia still pick up four runs. Is there anyone out there - if you're stuck reading this on a Sunday then let me know why by e-mailing in to rob.lancaster@bskyb.com.

  •

    Over 10: Sidebottom 0-0-1-3-0-2

43-0 - So that is the end of the mandatory 10-over power play at the beginning of this match. Having stuck their opponents in England would have liked to have picked up a wicket or two with the new ball. Instead Australia's openers have gone about their business comfortably enough, missing the good balls and picking off the bad ones. England are now going straight into power play number two...

  •

    Over 9: Bresnan 0-4-2-0-1-0

37-0 - Bresnan quickly learns not to bowl too short to Watson as a delivery only just back of a length is hammered away over mid-wicket. The all-rounder also picks up two runs when Morgan makes a hash of a dive at cover, going with his feet instead of his hands - what is it with England cricketers and football? In case you're wondering Joe Denly has been spotted today heading to the nets for some practice.

  •

    Over 8: Sidebottom 2w-0-0-0-0-0-0

30-0 - Prior continues to impress with the gloves on, twice diving down the leg side to save his side runs. By the way, did anyone see James Foster's batting for Essex yesterday? Five successive sixes in the Eagles' win over Durham - he was only denied going for six in a row by the bowler sending down five wides to finish the game! We're going to have a change in the bowling now, with Tim Bresnan coming on.

    Over 7: Anderson 0-0-0-2-4-1

28-0 - Watson lifts the tempo with seven from Anderson's fourth over, albeit with a fortunate four when Collingwood gets a hand on a square drive only to deflect the ball past the man backing up behind him, Eoin Morgan. The run-rate is now up to four an over.

  •

    Over 6: Sidebottom 0-0-0-0-0-1

21-0 - The impressive Sidebottom has now conceded just five runs from his three overs as Australia drift along at a rather old-fashioned scoring rate of of 3.50.

  •

    Over 5: Anderson 0-4-0-0-0-4

20-0 - Anderson's feeling the Paine when a short ball is cut away past Collingwood for four more. The wicketkeeper-batsman picks up a second boundary in the over when he takes a step down the pitch and then flicks a full delivery away very fine. JFK (surely not?!) has been in touch to state his frustration at the decision to leave out Rashid - it does seem a little strange, particularly as he scored runs on Friday too.

  •

    Over 4: Sidebottom 1-0-1-1-0-0

12-0 - Watson and Paine don't seem to have learned the lessons from Friday when it comes to running between the wickets. This time they take on Collingwood's right boot, only suviving as the Durham man's shot goes just wide of the posts, sorry stumps. So far it's a quiet start to proceedings.

  •

    Over 3: Anderson 0-0-0-0-0-4

9-0 - Another maiden goes begging when Watson leans on an over-pitched delivery and drives it beautifully away through the covers. The all-rounder had survived a loud appeal for leg before from the third ball, umpire Gould obviously disagreeing with England's shouts due to the ball moving back in.

  •

    Over 2: Sidebottom 0-0-0-0-0-1

4-0 - A possible Sidebottom maiden is ruined when Paine - who has now managed to get off the mark in international cricket - comes down the wicket and flicks a full ball away to fine leg. Sidebottom had given the wicketkeeper-batsman some problems earlier in the over, getting the ball to move back in late.

  •

    Over 1: Anderson 0-1-0-01w-1-0-0

3-0 - Anderson begins proceedings from the Nursery End and there's early signs of movement with the new white ball. Apart from a leg side wide when he asks the ball to come back too much through the air, it's a good start from The Burnley Express. The debate is still raging about Rashid's omission - have you say by e-mailing in to rob.lancaster@bskyb.com.

    Teams

In case you're wondering, Australia are unchanged. Michael Clarke said at the toss he wasn't too concerned about batting first despite the early start and a greenish tinge to the pitch.

  • Toss

The news from the middle is that Andrew Strauss has won the toss and elected to stick the tourists in - hardly a shock considering it's early on a Sunday morning and conditions are likely to favour the seamers.

  •

    Teams

England have confirmed that Tim Bresnan is in for the crocked Broad, while Adil Rashid - a star in Friday's defeat - has been unfortunately dropped to make way for another batsman, Eoin Morgan.

  •

    Injury blow

England have been dealt a setback before a ball has been bowled with the news that Stuart Broad has been ruled out of today's match due to a neck sprain.
