    Morkel comes into the attack with South Africa on top of the game. Four, good shot from Rahane, punches it through cover point for four. WICKET! Rahane gone, Morkel strikes! Rahane edges it to the keeper and is out for 8. India in deep trouble at 34 for 4. Dhoni comes out to bat. Dhoni takes a single to get off the mark. End of the 9th over, India 35 for 4.

    Rohit drives it to square third man for four, it was short from Tsotsobe and Rohit hits it over point for four. WICKET! South Africa get another breakthrough, Rohit edges it to Amla at short midwicket. India in trouble with three wickets down. Short ball, Rohit pulls it and Amla takes a great catch to get rid of Rohit. Raina comes to the crease.

    Rahane plays a few dots and then pushes it to mid off for a quick single. Rohit takes a quick single to cover, South Africa miss out on a run out chance. Rahane pushes it to backward square leg for a couple of runs. A dot ball to end the over, four from it.

    Rahane comes out to bat in testing times, another short ball from Steyn to Rohit, who hops and pushes it to square leg for a single. Just a single from the over, another good one from Steyn.

    Tsotsobe continues from the other end, three dots and Rohit takes a single to cover from the 4th. WICKET! Kohli gone, Tsotsobe gets the outside edge and de Kock takes the catch. Kohli tries to guide it to third man but is caught behind. Another batsman goes for a duck. Rahane comes out to bat. Great over from Tsotsobe.

  • Over 3 - Ind 15/1 (Kohli 0, R Sharma 9)

    WICKET! Steyn gets the first wicket with a beautiful delivery, Dhawan plays for the inswing but edges the ball to Duminy at backward point who takes a sharp catch. Dhawan goes for a duck, Kohli comes out to bat. Kohli is greeted with a short ball, but it goes down leg and is called a wide. Four byes, Kohli ducks under the short ball and de Kock fails to collect it.

    Tsotsobe starts with a wide down leg side. A couple of dots, Tsotsobe gets some good shape on the ball and swings it away from Rohit who leaves them alone. Four, Tsotsobe provides the width and Rohit cuts it hard through point for four, first boundary of the innings. Five runs from the over.

    Steyn starts the bowling for SA, Rohit flicks it to the left of fine leg for two runs. Rohit clips it again to square leg for a couple of runs. Two slips in place for Steyn, a single to end the over, Rohit hits it to third man.

    SA 280 for 6 after 49 overs

    The match was delayed due to a wet outfield which meant it would be a 49-overs-a-side contest. South Africa got to a flying start, posting the highest opening partnership on this ground, Amla and de Kock getting hundreds. Indians pulled things back very well after the power play. The target of 300 looked ominous when Amla and de Kock were batting but South Africa managed to post 280 in the end. It is a competitive total on this pitch considering South Africa's strong bowling attack. Indians will have to bat well to chase this target down.

    Philander takes a single and then McLaren hits Yadav over the square leg boundary for six. A single to McLaren and Philander hits Yadav for four to third man. McLaren's six for the first six of this innings. Four more, Philander gets it to the fine leg boundary, good acceleration in the final over. Another boundary, Philander ends the innings in style, South Africa end on 280 for 6 after their 49 overs.

    Shami starts his 8th over with a couple of dot balls. Kallis drives it between midwicket and long on for four, great shot, the yorker ended up being a full toss. WICKET! Shami gets his third wicket. Full and straight at good pace and Kallis is castled. Kallis goes for 10 trying to increasing the run rate. Philander comes out to bat with 7 balls remaining. Philander takes a single, brings McLaren on strike. McLaren gets a boundary to end the over through square leg.

  • Over 47 - SA 251/5 (Kallis 6, McLaren 1)

    Ishant Sharma is brought back into the attack. Kallis drives it to long on for two runs. Dhoni choosing Sharma over Yadav to bowl the last three overs. A single to Kallis. Duminy could be run out here, Dhoni seems confident and the third umpire is called for. WICKET! India get another wicket. Duminy run out due to some excellent fielding from Yadav, Duminy dives but is out of his crease. McLaren comes in to bat. Six runs from the over, South Africa 251 for 5.

    Duminy takes a single to mid on. Another wide from Shami, a well directed bouncer but called wide by the umpire. Kallis takes a single and then Duminy finds the boundary, beats the mid off fielder and gets four.

    Over 45 - SA 238/4 (Kallis 1, Duminy 20)

    Kallis comes out to bat, Jadeja starts with a wide to Duminy. Jadeja into his last over, a single to Duminy. Kallis gets off the mark with a single to sweeper cover. Jadeja finishes his 10 overs with 1 for 49 runs.

  • Over 44 - SA 234/4 (Miller 0, Duminy 18)

    Amla on 99 and Shami comes back into the attack. Amla runs a single to short third man and gets to his 100, another century from a talented batsman. His 12th ODI 100 in general and 3rd against India. Duminy works it through midwicket for a single. WICKET! Amla falls just after getting to his 100, caught by the keeper, a very soft dismissal. Shami gets the wicket. Miller walks out to bat with 5 and a half overs remaining. Another wide ball from Shami, called for height. WICKET! Shami gets the dangerous David Miller, trapped in front of his stumps on his pads. Miller goes out lbw for a duck. Replays show there was a bit of inside edge on it, but the umpire gives it out.

    Amla takes a single to long on, moves on to 97. The boundaries have dried up for the Proteas in the last few overs. Duminy gets a single in front of short leg. Amla gets a single from the third ball to sweeper cover. Four, Duminy drives it through sweeper cover for four, a welcome boundary for SA, first boundary in 48 balls. Nine runs from the over.

    The run rate has dropped slightly after those two wickets, India have pulled things back. Amla takes a single and then Duminy get a short ball from Yadav and ducks under it. Next ball, Duminy runs it down to third man for a single. A single to end the over, just three singles from it.

    Amla runs it down to long off for a single, he moves on to 93. Duminy comes down the pitch and drives it to long on for a single. Three singles from the over, a good one for India.

    Ten overs remaining in the innings, India have pulled things back with those two wickets. Duminy takes a single to bring Amla on strike, he is on 88 now. Amla cuts it to square third man for a couple of runs, good, controlled shot from him. A single to Amla, he guides it to third man. Six runs from the over, SA 216 for 2.

    The power play has brought wickets for India, South Africa only getting 27 runs from it, their power play run rate being less than their innings run rate so far. Jadeja continues after drinks, a bit of turn on offer for him. A couple of dots, then three singles and then a dot ball to end the over.

    Umesh Yadav comes back into the attack, he has 8 overs left. Three singles from the first three balls and then Duminy takes a couple of runs because of an overthrow from Jadeja. A single to end the over, six runs from it.

  • Over 37 - SA 201/2 (Amla 85, Duminy 1)

    Jadeja continues, a single to Amla. WICKET! de Villiers tries to come down the wicket and hit it over the top, he misses and Dhoni does well to stump him. Quick work by the Indian captain to get rid of his opposite number, Jadeja's spin beating AB. The promotion up the order has failed and South Africa lose their second wicket. JP Duminy comes in to bat. A single to get Duminy off the mark and bring up South Africa's 200. A single to end the over, 201 for 2.

  • Over 36 - SA 198/1 (Amla 83, de Villiers 3)

    Records tumbling now, this is the 2nd highest opening partnership for South Africa. WICKET! Ashwin gets the wicket, India get their first breakthrough and de Kock hits it to Rohit at square leg who takes an easy catch. Great knock from de Kock, he has put his team in a commanding position. AB promotes himself up the order with 15 overs to go. Three runs and a wicket from the over.

    Over 35 - SA 194/0 (Amla 82, de Kock 106)

    Only two other Protea openers have scored consecutive 100s, Amla in 2010 and Gibbs in 2002. Dhoni brings Shami back to bowl in the power play. Shami tries the short ball, Amla manages to glove it to the fine leg boundary for four. A leg bye and then de Kock gets a boundary, he comes down the wicket confidently and drives it through extra cover for four. South Africa 194 for no loss after 35 overs.

  • Over 34 - SA 183/0 (Amla 78, de Kock 101)

    The batting power play has been taken, a positive move from South Africa. de Kock gets a single, goes to his 2nd consecutive century in ODIs and raises his bat after a well-constructed innings. This is his 3rd ODI 100 and all of them have come in a month. Amla takes a single to bring de Kock back on strike. Three runs from the first over of the power play.

    de Kock pushes the ball through midwicket for a single, moves on to 95. Amla dabs it to sweeper cover for a single and de Kock gets another single from an inside edge to short fine leg. Amla drives it to long on for a single. de Kock gets two and a single to end the over, he ends the over on 99.

    This partnership is now a record for the highest opening pair in ODIs at Durban. Previous best was 170 runs between Gilchrist and Hayden in 2007. Ishant Sharma is brought back to bowl the 32nd over. A couple of singles from the over, a much better start to Ishant's second spell.

    A single to start the over and then Amla hits it inside out to long off for a couple of runs. Amla takes a single to long off to follow and then de Kock gets a single to square leg, six risk free runs from the over.

    A single to start the over for Ashwin. Amla drives it to sweeper cover for another single. A single to de Kock who moves on to 90. Five singles from the over, SA moving along at around 5.5 runs per over.

    Amla chops it to backward point for a quick single. A single to de Kock and then Amla finds the boundary. Amla waits, then goes for the slog sweep and finds the boundary. Six runs from the Jadeja over, South Africa 160 for no loss after 29 overs.

    A single to de Kock to start the over. A wide from Ashwin down the leg side, Amla lets it go. Three runs from the over, a good over for India.

    A couple of singles to start Jadeja's second over. A single to Amla to bring up South Africa's 150. Four runs from the over, South Africa moving along very well towards a big total.

    Over 26 - SA 147/0 (Amla 60, de Kock 84)

    South Africa will be looking to post a big total here, with all wickets in hand, this partnership providing a good platform and a power play to come. Ashwin continues, a couple of singles from the first two balls, and another single from the third ball. This pair has rotated strike beautifully while picking the regular boundary. Amla gets the single and goes to 4000 runs in ODIs, the quickest to get to this milestone.

    Jadeja finally comes on to bowl, Dhoni's last chance to get a wicket. Four singles from the quick Jadeja over, South Africa 142 for no loss after 25 overs.

    Ashwin comes back over the wicket, Dhoni shuffling his bowlers to make things happen. A couple of singles and then Amla smashes the ball through extra cover for another four, South Africa looking to accelerate with the run rate better than run a ball. Another eight run over for India, Dhoni will turn to Jadeja soon.

    A couple of singles to start the over and then de Kock gets another boundary through midwicket, shouts of catch it but it was far away from the fielder. Eight runs from the over, South Africa moving along at 5.65 runs per over. Amla gets his 50 with a single through the leg side.

    de Kock gets a single and Amla hits a four, dissecting the gap between cover and extra cover perfectly for four. Another boundary, de Kock gets it through the leg side for four.

    The last time South Africa put up two consecutive 100 run opening stands was in 2007 in the World Cup. Ashwin misfields at short fine leg and two more to de Kock. Five runs from the over.

    A chance of a run out from the first ball after drinks, but Amla is safe and de Kock gets two more runs. A quick single to follow, Dhoni hits the stumps but Amla is safe again. Five runs from the over, South Africa 106 for no loss after 20.

    Dhoni brings Kohli into the attack, Jadeja is held back for later. A couple of runs to Amla and that brings up the 100 run partnership for South Africa, and good opening stand from this pair. Four runs from Kohli's first over, India still searching for their first wicket, at drinks.

    Raina to de Kock who pushes it to long off for a single. Amla takes a single from the next ball to long on. Another single from the third ball, a couple of dots and a single to end the over.

    A couple of singles to start the over, Dhoni still looking for the first wicket. A much better over from Ashwin, just three singles from it.

    Raina continues, a couple of singles to start the over, this pair making it look too easy out in the middle. Three runs from the last ball, de Kock gets his 50 at the end of the 16th over.

    Three singles and a four to end the over, Ashwin is proving to be expensive for India. de Kock moves on to 45.

    Raina starts his second over, de Kock takes a single through mid wicket. Three singles from the over in the end, a good one for India.

    de Kock drives Ashwin down the ground for a single to start the over. Amla takes a single to deep mid wicket. Amla takes a single and the de Kock drives it to long off for a single, cleverly rotating the strike. Four to end the over, Amla cuts it to the third man boundary, a very good over in the end.

    A double change in the bowling as Dhoni brings in Raina to bowl a few overs. Good over from Raina, just a couple of singles from it.

    Dhoni brings Ashwin into the attack. A single to de Kock to deep extra cover brings Amla on strike. Amla drives it down the ground to long off for a couple of runs. A single to end the over, four from it.

    A single to Amla and then de Kock plays another good shot to earn four runs, short of a length from Ishant and de Kock whips it through midwicket for four. Amla joins the party with another four, India leaking runs in the first 10 overs and not able to get a wicket. Ten runs from the over, SA 58 for no loss after the first power play.

    de Kock starts the over with consecutive boundaries. First he punches a back of a length delivery from Shami through mid wicket for four. Then he drives it down the ground for four as Shami over corrects his length. de Kock takes a single to bring Amla on strike. Ten runs from the over.

    Good shot from de Kock to start the over, it was not a bad delivery from Ishant, but de Kock drives it through mid off for four. Ishant drifts on the pads and de Kock flicks it away for an easy two. Good comeback from Ishant, six of the first two balls and then just a single from the last four. South Africa 38 for no loss after 8 overs.

    India still searching for a breakthrough, they did not get an early wicket in Johannesberg either. Shami bowls a short one that goes over de Kock's head, umpire calls it a wide for height and Dhoni does well to collect it. A couple of runs to Amla as he flicks it off his pads through square leg. Four runs from the over.

    Over 6 - SA 27/0 (Amla 11, de Kock 14)

    A couple of singles to start the over, both Amla and de Kock driving the ball through the off side. A good over is spoiled by a poor last ball, Amla runs it down to the third man boundary for four. Ishant punished for some extra width of the last ball.

    Over 5 - SA 21/0 (Amla 6, de Kock 13)

    Another change in the bowling, Shami changes ends and replaces Umesh Yadav. de Kock drives the ball to sweeper cover for a couple of runs. Edged but it falls short of the keeper, de Kock is squared up by Shami, but the edge does not carry to Dhoni. Ashwin collected the ball and may have done some damaged to his hand, he has left the field for some treatment. Two runs from the over.

    A bowling change from Dhoni, Shami replaced by Ishant Sharma after just one over. Amla gets a single to third man. de Kock takes a single through gully and then Amla takes a single to cover. Four singles from the over, SA 19 for no loss.

    Shami starts with the second new ball from the other end. A couple of good balls to start and then Shami bowls a wide down leg. South Africa 7 for no loss after 2 overs.

    Umesh Yadav has the new ball for India, Amla and de Kock open the batting for South Africa. de Kock pushes it to cover for a single. Amla gets off the mark with a single through midwicket, Yadav drifting down leg. Two from the first over.
