•

    Over 28- Aus 204/6 -Faulkner 17 (13), Watson 49 (21)

Both batsmen loft straight sixes off Shami as the slaughter continues. Australia have gone past 200 now.

  •

    Over 27- Aus 190/6 -Faulkner 10 (10), Watson 42 (18)

Now Faulkner clubs Ashwin through mid-wicket to bring up the 50 partnership off 25 balls. Watson drives the last ball back to Ashwin, who sticks out a left hand but DROPS it.

  •

    Over 26 - Aus 184/6 -Faulkner 5 (7), Watson 41 (15)

Watson made one solid connection to send jadeja back over his head, but Watson might have exacerbated that hamstring injury.

  •

    Over 25 - Aus 177/6 - Faulkner 4 (4), Watson 35 (12)

Vinay Kumar to Watson, 4 0 0 6 6 6. The bowlers will all want a communal dose of amnesia to forget about the scars they are suffering in ths game. Watson has such an easy swing, and hits the ball miles, short boundaries or not.

  •

    Over 24 - Aus 155/6 - Faulkner 4 (4), Watson 13 (6)

The frenetic pace continues as Watson lobs Shami over long on and then drives all along the ground past mid off.

  •

    Over 23 - Aus 141/6 - Faulkner 2 (2), Watson 1 (2)

WICKET! Maxwell c Jadeja b Vinay Kumar 60 (22). Another 6, and then in attempting a second he has skied it to the mid wicket boundary where Jadeja nips around the rope to take the catch. Some drama as Watson eventually makes his way to the crease and is immediately in a verbal tussle with Dhawan.

  •

    Over 22 - Aus 132/5- Maxwell 54 (20)

Maxwell backs away and misses a swipe against Shami, so Jayasuriya's record is safe. The next ball is lofted over cover, and Maxwell has at least now got a share of the Austrlian record of 18 balls. WICKET! Voges b Mohammed Shami 4 (4). Voges gives himself some room, but the ball follows him and brushes the pads before crashing into leg stump.

  •

    Over 21 - Aus 125/4 - Voges 4 (12) Maxwell 47 (16)

Maxwell slogs one away to bring up the 50 partnership off 24 balls. However, he can only take a single off the last ball and can at best equal Jayasuriya's record for the fastest ODI 50 off 17 balls.

  •

    Over 20 - Aus 117/4 - Voges 4 (9) Maxwell 40 (13)

Maxwell continues to blaze away as Jadeja enters the attack. He clears the rope at deep mid wicket and the fastest ODI 50 is still a possibility.

  •

    Over 19 - Aus 105/4 - Voges 3 (7) Maxwell 29 (9)

Ashwin sticks to his guns bravely, and bowls two dots to the rampant Maxwell.

  •

    Over 18 - Aus103/4 - Voges 2 (4) Maxwell 28 (6)

6 first ball, and Maxwell's scoreline in that Vinay Kumar over reads 4 2 4 6 6. He has certainly not given up, 23 in the over.

  •

    Over 17 - Aus 80/4 Voges 1 (3) Maxwell 6 (1)

WICKET! Haddin b Ashwin 40 (40). There was some confusion about that one. Haddin played forward and the ball hit the top of middle stump. Dhoni was not sure if he had brushed the stump with the gloves, but the replay is clear. Maxwell walks in and smites the first ball he faces way over mid wicket.

  •

    Over 16 Aus 72/3 Haddin 38 (44) Voges 1 (3)

WICKET! Bailey run out (Yuvraj Singh/Vinay Kumar/Dhoni) 4 (12). A bizarre dismissal. Haddin was in a bit of trouble running to the bowler's end. Bailey was cruising home, but slowed and turned to watch the evvents at the other end. He was still quite far out, and Vinay collected the throw and got it to the other side smartly.

  •

    Over 15 Aus 68/2 Haddin 36 (42) Bailey 3 (11)

Ashwin is starting to work some magic here, already bamboozling both batsmen.

  •

    Over 14 Aus 66/2 Haddin 35 (40) Bailey 2 (7)

Well bowled by Vinay Kumar. He beat both batsmen with the awayswinger and troubled them with the inswinger.

  •

    Over 13 Aus 65/2 Haddin 35 (37) Bailey 1 (4)

WICKET! Hughes c Yuvraj Singh b Ashwin 23 (33). Ashwin's first ball is drifting onto leg stump. Hughes can't keep the flick down and Yuvraj takes a good low catch at mid-wicket

  •

    Over 12 Aus 64/1 Hughes 23 (32) Haddin 35 (36)

Haddin on the hook and didn't quite control it, but it was aimed perfectly between two fielders. Frustration for India as Vinay Kumar is called for the no-ball, and Hughes slices a catch to 3rd man off the free hit.

  •

    Over 11 Aus 56/1 Hughes 21 (28) Haddin 30 (33)

Hughes helps himself to a legside delivery to bring up the fifty. Kumar pitches a bit shorter and Haddin swats it through mid wicket as the scoring rate starts to pick up.

  •

    Over 10 Aus 46/1 Hughes 16 (25) Haddin 25 (30)

Haddin shows he can play the classic cover drive. New bowler Vinay Kumar overcompensates and Haddin flicks a legside delivery away for the second boundary of the over. End of the PowerPlay.

  •

    Over 9 Aus 37/1 Hughes 16 (24) Haddin 16 (25)

Kumar slips one down leg and Hughes glances to long leg. There is an LBW shout, which might have been pad before bat. The Indians are giving very little away as the asking rate mounts.

  •

    Over 8 Aus 35/1 Hughes 14 (18) Haddin 16 (25)

Haddin looking to play his shots now. He is not having much success against Shami, but plays a delightful flick to the fine leg boundary off the last ball.

  •

    Over 7 Aus 29/1 Hughes 14 (18) Haddin 10 (19)

Haddin has an LBW shout against him as he pulls at a length ball, but it was going down leg. That inspires him to play a delightful inside out drive and then wallop a half volley over mid wicket.

  •

    Over 6 Aus 19/1 Hughes 13 (16) Haddin 1 (15)

A misfield by Kumar earlier, but Yuvraj pleases bowler Shami with a good stop at square leg. Haddin is preferring the back foot, and Shami pitches it up to him.

  •

    Over 5 Aus 16/1 Hughes 10 (13) Haddin 1 (12)

Haddin is getting frustrated as he knows that the required rate is climbing. He mistimes a shot of frustration out to the leg side as Kumar keeps him quiet.

  •

    Over 4 Aus 16/1 Hughes 10 (13) Haddin 1 (6)

A good line from Shami, bowled at a lively pace, and there is not much that Hughes can do to get him away.

  •

    Over 3 Aus 14/1 Hughes 8 (7) Haddin 1 (6)

Hughes tickles a leg-side delivery wide of the keeper. Kumar almost bags another as Haddin gets the outside edge. It drops short of slip, and a misfield by Ashwin lets Haddin get off the mark.

  •

    Over 2 Aus 7/1 Hughes 2 (3) Haddin 0 (4)

WICKET! Finch lbw b Mohammad Shami 5 (5). That was a marginal call by umpire Llong, but might have been hitting leg. Haddin is the surpise face at #3, probably because of the injury to Watson.

  •

    Over 1 Aus 6/0 Finch 5 (4) Hughes 1 (2)

Finch strokes Kumar beautifully through the covers first ball as Australia set off on their mammoth run chase.

  •

    End of innings

Whew! India, thanks to Rohit Sharma's mammoth 209, have posted a huge score. Sharma's score is the second highest in ODIs, second only to Virender Sehwag. The closing overs were unbelievable, with Sharma and Dhoni plundering 100 in the last five. Australia will have to bat at close to 8 to the over from the start, but given the freaky nature of this series, can't be written off yet.

  •

    Over 50 Ind 383/6

DOUBLE CENTURY! Sharma becomes only the third player to record an ODI double century after Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. WICKET! Sharma c sub (Henriques) b McKay 209 (158, 12 fours 16 sixes). A low catch at deep mid wicket ends the party. Sharma has the second highest score in ODIs. WICKET! Dhoni run out (Henriques/Haddin) 62 (38). Dhoni still not satisfied with the score, and perishes trying a suicidal second off the last ball. Jadeja not out 0 (0). McKay 1/89, Faulkner 1/75, Doherty 2/74.

  •

    Over 49 Ind 362/4 Sharma 197 (155) Dhoni 53 (35)

Sharma's 14th six gives him the record for the most in an innings. He has also made the highest individual score against Australia in ODIs. Dhoni goes to FIFTY off 35 balls, but that will hardly rate a footnote in comparison to Sharma's efforts today.

  •

    Over 48 Ind 345/4 Sharma 184 (150) Dhoni 49 (34)

20 more as Dhoni does not want to miss out on the party. He hits two sixes off the hapless Faulkner, the second of which is clean out of the ground.

  •

    Over 47 Ind 325/4 Sharma 183 (149) Dhoni 30 (29)

What carnage! Doherty hardly deserves it but has been carved for 26 in the over by Sharma, hitting three sixes and two fours.

  •

    Over 46 Ind 299/4 Sharma 157 (143) Dhoni 30 (29)

Dhoni has a let-off as he pulls powerfully to deep mid-wicket, but Maxwell puts it down. Not an easy chance. The over produces 16 runs as Sharma finds the boundary three times, one of them being his 11th six. That is a new record for an Indian batsman.

  •

    Over 45 Ind 274/4 Sharma 142 (138) Dhoni 24 (26)

Sharma passes 1 000 ODI runs for the year, and then improves on his highest score of 141*. Dhoni celebrates with two powerful pull shots.

  •

    Over 44 Ind 268/4 Sharma 137 (136) Dhoni 19 (24)

Just seven in the over, almost as good as a maiden..

  •

    Over 43 Ind 261/4 Sharma 134 (133) Dhoni 15 (21)

McKay bowls back of a length and Sharma lashes it over mid wicket to bring up the 50 partnership. Six number 9 for him now.

  •

    Over 42 Ind 253/4 Sharma 127 (128) Dhoni 14 (20)

Big over for India as Faulkner goes for 15. It might have been much more different as Sharma pulled it to deep mid wicket where substitute Henriques reached up and tipped it over the rope.

  •

    Over 41 Ind 238/4 Sharma 113 (123) Dhoni 13 (19)

Overs running out, but India are still content to place the ball.

  •

    Over 40 Ind 232/4 Sharma 113 (123) Dhoni 7 (13)

Almost another run out as Dhoni sends Sharma back. He runs his line back to the crease and the throw hits him. He did not change diredion and so there is no appeal for obstruction.

  •

    Over 39 Ind 226/4 Sharma 108 (119) Dhoni 6 (11)

Not much action in the PowerPlay, but now Sharma drives off the back foot and over the covers.

  •

    Over 38 Ind 218/4 Sharma 101 (1154) Dhoni 5 (9)

CENTURY! Sharma lofts one over mid off, and that is his century.

  •

    Over 37 Ind 215/4 Sharma 99 (111) Dhoni 4 (7)

McKay comes back, and produces a better over. Sharma is struggling to find the gaps now, and ends the over on 99.

  •

    Over 36 Ind 211/4 Sharma 97 (108) Dhoni 2 (4)

More super keeping from Haddin as Faulkner cuts Sharma in half. No edge this time, but the first PowerPlay over goes for just a single.

  •

    Over 35 Ind 210/4 Sharma 96 (103) Dhoni 2 (2)

A tidy over from Finch. News from the Australian dressing room is that Watson has a hamstring injury. Time for the PowerPlay.

  •

    Over 34 Ind 208/4 Sharma 95 (99) Dhoni 1 (1)

WICKET! Yuvraj Singh c Haddin b Faulkner 12 (14). A super catch from Haddin, diving low to his left as Yuvraj is tempted to drive.

  •

    Over 33 Ind 203/3 Sharma 92 (97) Yuvraj 11 (11)

Coulter-Nile bombards Yuvraj with short balls. The first one had him on one knee, but a top edged pull has enough on it to carry it into the stands. Sharma shows a deft touch, dabbing another boundary to bring uP the 200. DRINKS!

  •

    Over 32 Ind 190/3 Sharma 88 (96) Yuvraj 2 (6)

Lots of overs left so neither batsman eends to take a chance off Doherty.

  •

    Over 31 Ind 188/3 Sharma 87 (92) Yuvraj 1 (3)

The batsmen will settle for a few singles as Yuvraj settles down.

  •

    Over 30 Ind 185/3 Sharma 85 (87) Yuvraj 0 (3)

WICKET! Raina lbw b Doherty 28 (30). Doherty does him the same way as he did Dhawan, pitching on off and spinning into the pad. Raina might have got some bat to it but umpire Llong decided correctly that it was pad first.

  •

    Over 29 Ind 183/2 Sharma 85 (87) Raina 26 (27)

A big blow for Australia as Watson pulls up lame as he runs in to bowl the first ball of the over, and leave the field. Maxwell comes on as a replacement, and Sharma launches him over the mid-wicket boundary twice.

  •

    Over 28 Ind 169/2 Sharma 72 (82) Raina 25 (26)

Doherty returns, but is mauled by Sharma. A straight six is followed by one that lands in the crowd beyond the long on boundary. 50 partnership is up off 48 balls.

  •

    Over 27 Ind 153/2 Sharma 59 (78) Raina 22 (24)

Raina opens the face of the bat and steers Watson to 3rd man for four. It was in the air, but nowhere near the keeper. 150 up now, just beyond the half-way mark

  •

    Over 26 Ind 146/2 Sharma 59 (76) Raina 15 (20)

Maxwell draws Sharma out of his crease, but the ball is sent soaring over the long on boundary.

  •

    Over 25 Ind 136/2 Sharma 51 (72) Raina 13 (18)

A new Watson spell almost starts dramatically as Raina plays firmly up to mid off where Hughes was guilty of a mis-field. Raina was sent back when halfway down the pitch, but the throw from Hughes was weak. Raina celebrates his let-off with a sweetly timed on drive for a rare boundary (in recent overs at least).

  •

    Over 24 Ind 128/2 Sharma 50 (71) Raina 6 (13)

FIFTY! Sharma gets one jagging back into him, but steers it to 3rd man to reach his half-century off 71 balls.

  •

    Over 23 Ind 125/2 Sharma 49 (68) Raina 4 (10)

Sharma goes to 49 by lofting Doherty over extra cover. It has not been easy getting the left-arm spinner away.

  •

    Over 22 Ind 119/2 Sharma 45 (64) Raina 2 (8)

Coulter-Nile returns to the attack and has Raina fishing outside the off stump, beating him from both over and around the wicket.

  •

    Over 21 Ind 118/2 Sharma 44 (62) Raina 2 (4)

Just a few singles off Doherty as the batsmen need to rebuild after that double strike by Australia.

  •

    Over 20 Ind 113/2 Sharma 41 (59) Raina 0 (1)

WICKET! Kohli run out (Coulter-Nile/Haddin) 0 (3). The crowd is stunned. Kohli pushed to Coulter-Nile at mid on and ran, but Sharma slipped and dived back into the crease. Kohli was way down the track and had no chance of getting back.

  •

    Over 19 Ind 112/1 Sharma 40 (57) Kohli 0 (0)

WICKET! Dhawan lbw b Doherty 60 (57). Doherty, from around the wicket, pitches one on off and it turns into the left-hander. He is shocked to see umpire Ravi's finger raised, but it looked pretty plumb. No reviews available in this series, of course.

  •

    Over 18 Ind 109/0 Sharma 38 (53) Dhawan 59 (55)

Play has resumed without any loss of overs. Each batsman is happy to play Maxwell away for a single.

  •

    Over 17 Ind 107/0 Sharma 37 (51) Dhawan 58 (51)

RAIN! There is some drizzle about and the umpires have decided to take the players off the field for a while.

  •

    Over 16 Ind 103/0 Sharma 34 (46) Dhawan 57 (50)

Dhawan brings up the 100 with a strong cut as Maxwell starts with a wide long hop. Finch made a hash of the fielding on the boundary and might have pulled a hamstring in the process.

  •

    Over 15 Ind 97/0 Sharma 34 (46) Dhawan 51 (44)

FIFTY for Dhawan as he rocks back to cut a shorter ball, off 43 balls. DRINKS, and Australia will appreciatet he chance to regroup.

  •

    Over 14 Ind 90/0 Sharma 30 (43) Dhawan 48 (41)

Coulter-Nile returns, and his first ball was struck through the covers thanks to a Finch misfieldl

  •

    Over 13 Ind 82/0 Sharma 29 (42) Dhawan 42 (36)

Doherty's first over is probing. Watson could have had the run out as Dahwan was sent back, but his throw was a bit wild.

  •

    Over 12 Ind 79/0 Sharma 28 (41) Dhawan 40 (31)

Watson dropped one short and Dhawan played a well-timed pull.

  •

    Over 11 Ind 71/0 Sharma 27 (40) Dhawan 34 (26)

McKay returns after the PowerPlay and that was a tighter over, with just a few singles. However the first one was down leg and scooted to the bounary off Sharma's pads.

  •

    Over 10 Ind 64/0 Sharma 25 (36) Dhawan 32 (24)

Watson completes the PowerPlay with another tight over. Australia will be pleased to have restricted the Indians to just 64 after the cavalier start.

  •

    Over 9 Ind 60/0 Sharma 25 (35) Dhawan 29 (19)

A good over from Faulkner until he gave Sharma a bit too much latittude outside of, and he sent it soaring over extra cover.

  •

    Over 8 Ind 52/0 Sharma 17 (29) Dhawan 29 (19)

Watson is also into the attack sooner than expected. He bowled a good line on and around off stump, and got one past Sharma's outside edge.

  •

    Over 7 Ind 51/0 Sharma 16 (24) Dhawan 29 (18)

Better over from Faulkner, but Sharma does pick off the loose delivery.

  •

    Over 6 Ind 45/0 Sharma 11 (18) Dhawan 29 (18)

Coulter-Nile strays in line and lengght and Dhawan is quick to take advantage with three more boundaries.

  •

    Over 5 Ind 33/0 Sharma 11 (18) Dhawan 17 (12)

Faulkner is into the attack quickly. From around the wicket he induces a false shot from Sharma, the ball landing just short of mid off. His response is to go over the wicket, and a wide ball is promptly guided to 3rd man

  •

    Over 4 Ind 29/0 Sharma 7 (12) Dhawan 17 (12)

Coulter-Nile tested Dhawan with a short ball, and it flew off the top edge into open space at fine leg.

  •

    Over 3 Ind 26/0 Sharma 6 (9) Dhawan 15 (9)

Poor over from McKay that goes for 17. It started with a wretched ball down leg that Haddin did well to parry. Dhawan drove past mid off with the toe of the bat, but McKay then made the mistake of drifting onto leg stump and got clipped away for two more boundaries.

  •

    Over 2 Ind 9/0 Sharma 5 (7) Dhawan 2 (5)

Coulter-Nile has the other new ball in his hand and bowls accurately at brisk fast medium pace. He too strays down the leg side. An overpitched delivery is dispatched over mid on for the first boundary. The bowler changes his line to outside off, and Sharma lets a few go through.

  •

    Over 1 Ind 4/0 Sharma 1 (1) Dhawan 2 (5)

McKay opens and swings the new ball from the start. A thick edge from Sharma to start, but the next swings down leg side for the first extra. Protection at deep cover already as Dhawan drives confidently.

    Greetings!

Hello and welcome to the seventh and final ODI between India and Australia. The series is level at two all so this is the decider in Bangalore.
