This one's more straightforward. Wright thrashes a drive to the cover boundary but then nicks an attempted square cut to the keeper.
Just your standard caught behind here, as Hales has an almighty slog at Hazlewood and sends the ball high into the Southampton night sky. When it starts coming down, Wade and square-leg Ahmed appear to be leaving it to each other, but Wade belatedly makes his way towards the ball and takes a superb diving catch.
Hales got his first boundary in that over, thrashed through point and then should've been run out but escaped as Faulkner missed the target. Luke Wright in at three.
Mitchell Johnson. Don't ever change. Another over of absolute filth goes relatively unpunished this time before a fast, swinging ball traps Lumb plumb in front.
Good start for Josh Hazlewood ruined by Lumb clubbing the last ball of the over way back beyond the ropes at long-on. England still up with the rate.
Generous start from crowd favourite Mitchell Johnson, who donates two wides and a no-ball to the cause. Gloriously, the two wides were actually bowled to the left and then to the right. When he does get it on the cut strip, Lumb edges him over third-man for four and then adds two more far more convincing boundaries clipped through square-leg and smeared over cover. England ahead of the rate.
A magnificent display of powerful and clean ball-striking from Finch. I'll stick my neck out: it's a matchwinning innings. His 156 is a new record score in this form of the international game and made up 63 per cent of the team's giant total. We're in for some fun if England win this. Finch's is the biggest individual international score in this form of the game, Australia's 248/6 the second-highest team total.
Dernbach's last two overs have been superb here. Won't make a difference, but he's taken three wickets and cut off the boundaries. Among the carnage, Dernbach's 3/34 is a fine effort.
Dernbach bothers the timbers again as he arrows a yorker under Maxwell's attempted offside thrash and knocks back the off stump.
Wade has a couple of sighters before pulling Finn down to the long-leg boundary and then levering a length ball up and over long-on for six. Last ball of the over is a slow, hit-me short ball. Wade doesn't get all of it, so has to settle for four.
Bailey can't join in the fun. He's palpably lbw to Finn for just a single.
Two wickets and only six runs from an excellent Dernbach over. Two new batsman, Maxwell and skipper Bailey, at the crease to tee off for the last two overs.
Two in the over for Dernbach, and this one's brilliant. Back-of-the-hand slower ball completely does Watson, looping towards the batsman and dipping under the bat before plonking into leg stump.
The fun is over. Dernbach returns and, although Finch does manage to club a four down the ground, removes the centurion bowled off the inside edge. A quite extraordinary innings comes to an end on 156.
This is just silly. Briggs back on for a bowl. Finch whacks him down the ground for four before launching three HUGE sixes over the legside. Fourteen sixes in his 152 not out, another record falls. Not only can he hit for six, he can count to six. Picks up a single off the last ball of the over. He could get 200 here. Sri Lanka's record score of 260 definitely in strife.
Shot! Finch goes to the highest score in international Twenty20 cricket with an outrageous shot hammered flat over extra-cover. Broad double-teapots before heading back to his mark to continue the punishmen. Watson's moved almost unnoticed to 32 not out off 13 here as he slaps Broad over long-on for another six. Broad brings deep point up inside the ring and then bowls a wide full-toss. Horror show this for England, and Watson eases the ball to the point boundary. Absolute carnage.
The landmark reached, Finch back to his original plan of attack as Wright is deposited for two huge sixes over the legside. Watson joins in the fun with the best six of the night, hit classically straight back over the bowler's head.
Finch's nervous nineties continue before a top-edged pull shot just clears the ropes at fine-leg to bring up a century from 47 balls. Been a bit shoddy in the last few overs as he allowed the personal landmark to change his plan of attack, but that's nit-picking. It's been a sensational display of hitting. First T20 international by an Australian. Plenty of time to add to it as well. Watson also going well, and he gets a toe-end off Broad past the diving Buttler for four more.
Great over from Luke Wright. Just four runs from it, with Finch on 99 off 45 balls which means he won't break the record for fastest ever T20 international century.
Finch blocking his way to three-figures now. Shocking. Bunts the ball into the offside for a single before Watson gets two to third-man and then a single to the same man with back cuts. Finch again content to drop and run a single off a Dernbach slower ball before Watson picks up his first boundary by thrashing a length ball past extra-cover. Another four runs from the last ball of the over, clubbed back past the bowler. Bang.
Good over from Briggs. Just six runs from it as well as the wicket. Even managed to bowl a dot ball to Finch.
England needed a wicket. They've not got the one they really needed, but they'll take it as Marsh skies Briggs to long-on where Lumb takes a safe catch.
Crikey. Root into the attack. And he gets utterly destroyed by Finch, who launches two sixes down the ground before a flat swipe over midwicket has the crowd running for cover. Victory for Root next ball, though, with Finch only able to thrash it past cover along the ground for four. The last ball slides off the outside edge for four more! Twenty-seven runs from the over, and Finch is 91 not out off just 36 balls. Insane hitting.
Good over from Briggs, but he's let down in the field. Should've been just six singles from it, but a Hollywood piece of needless sliding fielding from Lumb at long-on allows the ball dribble to past for four.
Sensational hitting this from Finch. Bopara the next man in the firing line and, after Marsh back-cuts for four and then picks up a single, Finch launches a slower ball down the ground for six to reach his 50 before smashing a length ball in-to-out over extra-cover for four.
Change of pace from England, but not from Australia as Danny Briggs comes on and gets cracked for four through point by Finch and then launched wide of long-on for six by Marsh. Australia on for a huge total here.
Dernbach into the attack and once again it's the last ball of the over that goes the distance to spoil a good start from the Surrey man. Finch backs away and somehow gets enough bat on a full ball outside off stump to clear the ropes at cover. Actually fell over playing the shot. Still nailed it. Great powerplay for Australia.
Finn continues into a third over despite an expensive start. Two singles to start the over before Finch heaves to leg again but gets only two runs thanks to good work from Joe Root on the boundary. Finn gets in a couple of dot balls but then drops short again with predictably dire results. Root reduced to a spectator this time as the ball sails way over his head.
Broad looks like sneaking in another relatively quiet over until the last ball, which is short, wide and cut away hard past backward point for four by the left-handed Marsh.
Finch taking Finn apart here, banging two boundaries over the top before picking a slower ball and drop-kicking that over deep midwicket for four more.
Slip comes out, and Finch promptly nicks the ball right where the man had been standing to pick up four. Shaun Marsh the new batsman in at three.
Warner tosses away his wicket, bat. The left-hander aims a huge mow on the legside and sends the bat flying out of his hands towards square-leg and the ball skying to short third-man, where Buttler moves round to take the catch. Warner suffers the ignominy of having to walk over to get his bat back before leaving the park.
Steven Finn opens the bowling for England on a dry, cracked surface. First runs for Australia, whose task tonight and in these upcoming one-dayers is the equivalent of throwing some shoes over a Slough office block but with Aaron rather than Chris Finch, comes via leg-byes from Finn's second delivery. Warner beaten for pace attempting an optimistic pull shot and makes no contact but gets bat on ball with a repeat effort and sends the ball high towards long-leg. Lands short of Jade Dernbach. That brings the right-handed Finch on strike, and he shows Warner how the pull shot should be done by hammering his first ball way back over deep square-leg for six. Finch keeps the strike with a single to mid-off, and it's a good start for Australia.
