    Over 31 Christian 1-0-1-1-0-1

127-5 - Dan Christian comes back into the attack. Kapugedera guides the ball down to third man for a single. Tharanga goes through cover.

  •

    Over 30 Doherty 4-0-0-1-0-1

123-5 - Tharanga drives through extra cover and it's well timed as it beats the man patrolling the cover boundary. Sri Lanka nearly gift Australia another wicket as the two batsmen decide to take a single that's not there. Luckily Kapugedera pulls out the dive to make his crease, just.

  •

    Over 29 Watson 1-0-0-0-1-0

117-5 - Watson has a slip in for the new man. Kapugedera takes one wide of backward point. Watson comes around the wicket to Tharanga. The left-hander drives for one.

  •

    Over 28 Doherty 0-0-0-1-1-0

115-5 - Tharanga flicks the wrists and takes a quick single to the leg-side. Kapugederera is off the mark with a single through cover.

  •

    Over 27 Watson 0-1-0-W-0-0

113-5 - Tharanga fails to punish a full one on leg stump. Only a single to the total. WICKET! Captain Shane Watson does the business for his side. Thirimanne slashes at a wide one and hits it to backward point where David Warner takes the catch low down. Chamara Kapugedera is the new batsman in.

  •

    Over 26 Doherty 1-1-0-0-0-1

112-4 - Sri Lanka require another 123 runs from 150 balls. Tharanga and Thirimanne continue to pick up the singles. Silly stuff from Tharanga as he looks to go over mid-off. Luckily for him it bounces just short.

  •

    Over 25 Watson 0-1-1-0-0-1

109-4 - Skipper Watson brings himself back into the attack. He has a golden arm when it comes to breaking partnerships. Worked to the leg-side by Tharanga. Thirimanne uses his feet, but he gets only a single to third man. Short and pulled, but there is protection on the deep midwicket boundary.

  •

    Over 24 Doherty 4wd-0-0-0-0-0-0

106-4 - Left-armer Xavier Doherty comes back into the attack. Doherty gets turn and it beats the bat and keeper. That brings up the half-century partnership. Good comeback from Doherty as he keeps Thirimanne scoreless.

  •

    Over 23 Lee 1-0-wd-0-0-0-1

102-4 - Sri Lanka's 100 comes up as Thirimanne works the ball through square leg. Lee is around the wicket and he bowls a good shorter one. The umpire decides it's a wide.

  •

    Over 22 Lyon 1-1-3-1-0-0

99-4 - Watson continues to attack with a slip. Thirimanne and Tharanga have done very well in the last few overs with strike rotation. Ooh! Tharanga cuts hard and it flies past Watson at slip.

  •

    Over 21 Lee 1-1-0-2-1-1

93-4 - Lee comes back into the attack. Tucked off the hip by Thirimanne for a single. Tharanga takes one to the cover region. A misfield at mid-on gives Thirimanne two.

  •

    Over 20 Lyon 4-0-0-1-1-1

87-4 - Lovely placement from Thirimanne as he picks up a boundary down to deep backward point. Good over as they finish with three singles.

  •

    Over 19 McKay 0-0-1-3-0-0

80-4 - Thirimanne goes for a big booming drive, but he doesn't make contact. Worked to the leg-side for a single. Driven down the ground and the man at mid-off dives over it. Three to Tharanga.

  •

    Over 18 Lyon 0-0-1-1-0-1

75-4 - The required run rate is 4.82 and Sri Lanka are going at 4.23. So they are still within touching distance. Thirimanne gets one to short fine leg while Tharanga works it to square leg. A sweep brings only one.

  •

    Over 17 McKay 1-0-0-0-0-0

72-4 - The short break is something of the past and back into the attack comes Clint McKay. He is around the wicket and Thirimanne cuts for a single past backward point. There's no free runs on offer here for the Sri Lankans.

  •

    Over 16 Lyon 1-0-1-0-1-1

71-4 - Australia are taking the bowling Powerplay here. Interesting move from Watson with Lyon still turning his arm over. Watson himself in place at first slip and looking very active out there directing his fielders around the park. A few singles there from the batsmen and it's time for a drink.

  •

    Over 15 Christian 2-0-1-1lb-0-0

67-4 - Wide half-volley and Tharanga takes the bait and drives to the outfield where third man comes around and does the fielding. APPEAL! Christian coming around the wicket goes up for an lbw shout, but it's very ambitious and it hardly gets a second look from umpire Dar. The angle going into the left-hander would have taken that well past leg stump.

  •

    Over 14 Lyon 1-0-0-0-1-0

62-4 - Tharanga's using his feet again, but Lyon is showing some good temperament by sending it in flatter and getting the batsman to check his shot. Since Jayawardene's wicket, Sri Lanka have been plodding along at two per over. Don't think for one second that they've given up, the Sri Lankans know exactly how to take a match down to the wire, and that's one of the reasons why this series has been so successful.

  •

    Over 13 Christian 0-1-0-0-0-0

60-4 - Dan Christian into the attack now and he comes around the wicket to Thirimanne. Single for the left-hander and then Christian gets one to cut right through Tharanga. There's life in this pitch for sure.

  •

    Over 12 Lyon 0-1-0-0-0-1

59-4 - The debutant comes on to bowl for Australia. There's just the one slip in place for the off-spinner bowling to the two left-handers. Upul Tharanga looks to use his feet early and tries to go over the top, but doesn't middle it and luckily so, because he could have been caught by the man at mid-on. Good enough start to the ODI career for Lyon, just the two singles off the over.

  •

    Over 11 Watson 0-0-1-0-1-0

57-4 - So at this stage Sri Lanka should probably just try and see out McKay as he's the most threatening at the moment. Watson could be the man to score off, but the Sri Lankan duo seem content to just get their eyes in and push a couple of singles around the ground. Probably is the right thing to do as they need a big partnership and both Thirimanne and Tharanga are new to the crease.

  •

    Over 10 McKay 0-0-W-0-1-1

55-4 - WICKET! A near perfect ball from McKay. Mahela cannot do anything about it as the ball seams back beautifully and clips the off stump bail. That would have got many a top order batsman out. Jayawardene just played the wrong line, but you can hardly blame him as the deviation was enough to squeeze through the gate. Upul Tharanga comes in and it's now left-handers at both ends, and opening batsmen at both ends.

  •

    Over 9 Watson 0-0-1-0-0-0

53-3 - The Australian skipper brings himself into the attack to try and get rid of his opposite number. For a man always plagued by injuries, he does brilliantly to get up over the 136kph mark. Still 179 runs to go, so Sri Lanka are by no means out of it. There's just a little feeling that Australia are on top here. There's plenty of batting to come still, with Kulasekara scheduled to come it at number nine.

  •

    Over 8 McKay 0-0-W-0-0-0

52-3 - APPEAL! McKay gets one to jag back into the right-handed Chandimal and every single Australian goes up for the appeal. Some go up for the lbw, others outside the circle just get excited. Umpire says not out and he'd be correct as it hit him outside the line of off stump. WICKET! This time he's out. What an over form Clint McKay. The second one traps him stone dead in front, it looks almost like Asad Rauf's finger was in the air before the appeal was completed. Mind you, it's the right decision and that leaves Sri Lanka in a little bit of trouble with Lahiru Thirimanne strolling to the crease. Then again, this is Sri Lanka and run chasing is what they do best at the moment it seems.

  •

    Over 7 Lee 4-W-0-4-0-1

52-2 - WICKET! Lee has all his critics eat humble pie by clinching the key wicket of Sangakkra. Hungry for a second boundary on the trot, the left-hander drives at one halfheartedly, only to edge it to the slip cordon, where Watson holds onto a screamer. Chandimal in now and, true to form, quickly off the mark with a confident slice through point for four. 50 up for the tourists.

  •

    Over 6 McKay 0-3-0-0-0-0

43-1 - Right-arm seamer replaces left-arm slow bowler but still the flow of runs continues, with Sangakkara whipping three through the leg-side. McKay, though, does manage to close the over on the quiet by correcting his line.

  •

    Over 5 Lee 0-1wd-0-1-3-1-1

40-1 - Another inadequate over. This guy's sell-by date has expired. The Aussies would have been better off selecting Hilfenhaus or Harris.

  •

    Over 4 Doherty 0-0-1-1wd-4-0-4

33-1 - The spinner is not doing himself any favours by churning out a length far too full to trouble the right-hander and left-hander. It's the latter that's at hand to crash four through the covers and then the same result slightly wider of the previous area.

  •

    Over 3 Lee 4-0-2-1-0-W

23-1 - Very Jayawardene, this. The newfound opener darts down the crease to lambaste four through the covers, then stays rooted behind the line to dink a couple through the on-side. Toying with the rogue pace ace, really. WICKET! It's Lee who has the last laugh, to Dilshan at least. Flummoxed by a straight one, the right-hander is squared up in looking to turn the ball through the leg-side and watches in dismay as his leading edge balloons a simple catch to the cover fielder. Sangakkara in now.

  •

    Over 2 Doherty 0-4-0-0-0-4

16-0 - They didn't in the first final, but do this time around - Australia take example from Sri Lanka to open their attack with a slow bowler. Poor start from the left-armer, though. Unlike Dilshan, he isn't tight across the opening throes, copping four through backward point and four more across fine-leg.

  •

    Over 1 Lee 0-2-4lb-0-0-2

8-0 - One has to question Lee's ongoing presence in the series. Nursing a broken toe, he should have withdrawn his participation long ago. Instead he labours on, coughing up the latest of his wayward overs to fire Sri Lanka off to a solid start.

  •

    Sri Lanka's Pursuit

All and sundry back out in the middle after a quick bite to eat. Jayawardene and Dilshan to open, as usual. Lee to take the first over, as usual.

  •

Sri Lanka need 232 for victory

A brilliant bowling effort from Sri Lanka as they restrict Australia to a score that is below par. The hosts got off to a good start with David Warner hitting 48 and Matthew Wade making 49, but once one wicket went down the rest followed suit. Rangana Herath and Farveez Maharoof both picked up three wickets to restrict the hosts to 231. Do join us again in 40 minutes for the chase.

  •

    Over 50 Kulasekara 0-W-W

231 all - WICKET! Kulasekara picks up a wicket. Full and Lee is bowled via an inside onto his toe. He makes it two wickets in two balls as debutant Nathan Lyan chips it to deep midwicket. Duck on debut.

  •

    Over 49 Malinga 1-0-0-0-1-1

231-8 - Lee picks up a single after an inside edge while Doherty takes a couple of balls before taking a quick one to backward point. Lee steals a single to the leg-side. Malinga finishes with none for 69. Expensive spell.

  •

    Over 48 Kulasekara 0-0-1-0-1-1

228-8 - Kulasekara comes back into the attack. Lee works it through cover for one. Doherty picks up one to long-off. Lee keeps the strike by skying one down the ground.

  •

    Over 47 Malinga 2-0-1-2-1-1

225-8 - Lee chips it over the bowler's head and picks up two. New man Xavier Doherty is away with a couple down to backward point.

  •

    Over 46 Herath 4-0-0-0-W-1

218-8 - The Sri Lankans have started to relax out in the middle, but they need to be careful that they don't allow the Australians to get away slightly. McKay gets in on the act as he goes inside out over extra cover. WICKET! Sri Lanka finally end the partnership as McKay holes out to the man at deep midwicket. Maharoof had to dive forward to take the catch. Herath finishes with three for 36 in his 10 overs.

  •

    Over 45 Malinga 2-4-0-0-2-0

213-7 - Malinga is back for his umpteenth spell of the innings. Full and Lee cracks it through cover for two. Shot! Lee plahts the front foot and drives through extra cover and this time he picks up a boundary. The fast bowler cracks another one through the extra cover region and adds two more to the total.

  •

    Over 44 Herath 0-1-0-1-1-1

205-7 - This has been a very decent knock from McKay, but he nearly gets himself out. He backs away and just gets his bat down in time. He chips the next ball down the ground for one. After

  •

    Over 43 Kulasekara 2-0-0-6-0-1

201-7 - McKay picks up two to third man and then swings a slower ball over the deep midwicket fence for six. That brings up Australia's 200.

  •

    Over 42 Herath 0-0-0-1-0-0

191-7 - Herath replaces the out-of-sorts Malinga. McKay takes a couple of balls before picking up a single to square leg. That's the only run from the over.

  •

    Over 41 Kulasekara 0-1-0-1-0-0

191-7 - The Aussie run-rate is just under five to the over. If these two stay in then they could push it close to 250. That would give the bowlers something to defend. Couple more singles to the total.

  •

    Over 40 Malinga 0-4-0-0-0-4

189-7 - Enforced bowling change with Maharoof bowled out. Malinga, who has not been at his best today, is the man into the attack. This is also the last over of the batting Powerplay. McKay gets it fine and picks up four. Wow! Slower ball and McKay goes down the ground for four. It bounced just inside the rope.

  •

    Over 39 Herath 0-1-0-1-0-1

181-7 - Rangana Herath comes back into the attack. He still has four overs left. McKay and Lee work the ball through the leg-side for a couple of singles.

  •

    Over 38 Maharoof 1-1-W-0-1lb-0

178-7 - Couple more singles. WICKET! Sri Lanka nab another wicket. Slower ball from Maharoof and Christian chips it to mid-off. The batsman looked to use his feet, but the change of pace outfoxed him. Lovely bowling. Clint McKay is the new batsman in. Maharoof gets a bit of reverse swing, but it was going down leg stump. Maharoof finishes with two for 40 in his 10 overs.

  •

    Over 37 Malinga 0-2b-2-0-0-wd-4

175-6 - Herath went for 10 in his previous over so Jayawardene decides to bring Malinga back into the attack. Can he nab another wicket for the Sri Lankans? Swing and miss from Lee and it beats Sangakkara as well. Leading edge over cover gives Lee two more. Another slower ball and another swing and miss. Poor final ball from Malinga and Lee pulls for four.

  •

    Over 36 Maharoof 0-1-0-0-0-1

166-6 - Australia decide to take their batting Powerplay. Lovely push down the ground by Christian, but it is only a single. Nice slower ball from Maharoof, but Lee is equal to the task.

  •

    Over 35 Herath 1-0-4-4-0-1

164-6 - Worked through midwicket again by Lee. Slip and short mid-off in for Christian. The right-hander uses his feet and slaps it down the ground. Malinga is a little slow to go to the ground at mid-on and Christian picks up a boundary. Again he has his dancing shoes on and this time he makes better contact and picks up a one-bounce four to long-on.

  •

    Over 34 Maharoof 0-0-0-0-0-1

154-6 - Maharoof cuts right through Lee. Sangakkara does well behind the stumps to get glove to it as it jagged back. Lee keeps the strike with one to midwicket.

  •

    Over 33 Herath 1-0-0-0-0-1

153-6 - This really has been a brilliant turnaround from Sri Lanka. Warner and Wade were looking good early on, but then they lost their way. Brett Lee is the new man in, but he's not facing just yet. Now he is as Christian takes a quick single. Slip and leg slip in for the all-rounder. Can I call him that? Lee gets one to square leg.

  •

    Over 32 Maharoof 0-0-1-0-1-W

151-6 - With Herath bowling so well, you have to wonder about Sri Lanka's decision not to play a second spinner. Australia, of course, have two in Nathan Lyon and Xavier Doherty. Hussey works the ball through square leg to bring up Australia's 150. WICKET! Sri Lanka nab the big wicket of Hussey. Jayawardene is really pumped after that. Straight from Maharoof and it hits Hussey on the back leg. It looks plumb and the umpire agrees.

  •

    Over 31 Herath 1-0-1-1-1-1

149-5 - Hussey picks up a single to midwicket while Christian goes to long-off. Herath gets a bit of turn to Hussey, but the right-hander works it to into the covers for one. He has bowled beautifully today.

  •

    Over 30 Maharoof 0-1-0-0-0-2

144-5 - Farveez Maharoof comes back into the attack. Hussey works it to square leg and Maharoof does the fielding off his own bowling. The final ball is short and Christian pulls for a couple.

  •

    Over 29 Herath 1-0-0-1-0-1

141-5 - Jayawardene continues to attack as he adds a short leg to the slip. Hussey pushes down the ground for one. Christian does likewise.

  •

    Over 28 Malinga 0-0-1-0-1-1

139-5 - Malinga continues. He has been disappointing so far. He draws an inside edge from Hussey, but it's well wide of the stumps.

  •

    Over 27 Herath 1-0-0-W-0-0

135-5 - Jayawardene is keeping the slip in for both batsmen. Worked to the leg-side by Hussey. WICKET! Rangana Herath strikes again. He's probably wondering why his captain took so long to bring him into the attack. Flight and some turn and it beats the batsman. Forrest moved to the leg-side and missed the ball, which went on to hit his off-stump. Dan Christian is the new man in.

  •

    Over 26 Malinga 2-4-1-0-2-0

134-4 - Malinga comes back into the attack and the pressure is on the batsmen now as Australia can't afford to keep on losing wickets. Excellent running between the wickets sees Forrest pick up two to third man. Four more to the total as he gets it past backward point. The man on the boundary makes a mess of his slide and it rolls over the rope. More good running, this time to deep backward square leg, brings two more.

  •

    Over 25 Herath W-1-0-0-0-1

125-4 - We will finally have a fifth bowler as Rangana Herath is into the attack. Wade is one run short of a half-century. WICKET! Wade doesn't get to that half-ton. He gives himself a bit of room and looks to cut, but he gets a nick and Sangakkara completes the catch at the second time of asking. It was a good catch from the keeper as it was a thick nick. Peter Forrest is up and running with a dab and run. Jayawardene decides to add some pressure by putting in a slip.

  •

    Over 24 Kulesakara 0-0-0-1lb-1-1

123-3 - We have just seen the four bowlers so far and it will stay that way as Nuwan Kulasekara is back into the attack. He gets Hussey playing and missing at one outside off. Australia take a leg-bye to square leg.

  •

    Over 23 Dilshan 0-0-0-0-1-1

121-3 - Final over from Dilshan. Big shout for a stumping, but replays show Wade's back foot never left the crease. The left-hander backs away and cuts for a single. David Hussey is up and running with one down the ground. Dilshan finishes with one for 41.

  •

    Over 22 Malinga 3-1-0-0-0-W

119-3 - Much like the Warner wicket, the Watson dismissal came out of nowhere. Some useless info for you now. The surnames of Australia's first three batsmen all started with 'w'. I know this info is not earth shattering, but you are delighted that I shared it with you. Back to the game and Herath cuts off a certain boundary with a good dive at fine leg. WICKET! Wade cuts it hard into the ground and it pops to the leg-side. Hussey calls him through for a quick single, but Dilshan picks it up in the point region and hits the stumps. It's referred to the third umpire and Hussey is found short of his ground. That's another wicket out of nowhere for Sri Lanka.

  •

    Over 21 Dilshan 1-1-1-W-0-0

115-2 - Tillakaratne Dilshan comes back into the attack for his ninth over. Australia are already more than 30 runs better off than they were in the second final. And the singles continue to roll in. WICKET! Dilshan gets another breakthrough. Watson pulls powerfully but it goes to deep midwicket. Herath runs forward and takes a good catch low the ground. He got some whiplash for his efforts. His face went hard into the ground. Ouch! Good catch though. Michael Hussey is in at No 4.

  •

    Over 20 Malinga 4-0-1-1-2-0

112-1 - Lasith Malinga comes back into the attack and Watson greets him with a lovely chip over mid-on for four. Lazy follow-up shot from Watson as he looks to cut, but misses the ball. Malinga is too wide outside off-stump and Watson throws the bat at it, but it's only two through deep backward point.

  •

    Over 19 Kulesekara 0-1-0-1-4-0

104-1 - Nuwan Kulasekara comes back into the attack. A couple of singles down the ground bring up Australia's 100. Wade plays a lovely drive through cover and picks up a boundary.

  •

    Over 18 Maharoof 0-1-6-1-1-0

98-1 - Captain Shane Watson gets in on the act as he pulls Maharoof for six through deep midwicket. Time for drinks.

  •

    Over 17 Dilshan 0-4-1-0-1-1

89-1 - Sri Lanka have done very well here to pull things back since the wicket. The Aussies have gone four overs without a boundary. Dilshan is into his eighth over. I spoke too soon about the boundaries. Wade sweeps powerfully and picks up four through backward square leg. Next they steal a single to short fine leg. They steal another single, this time to cover. If the throw from Jayawardene was good then Wade was in deep trouble.

  •

    Over 16 Maharoof 0-0-1-2-0-1

82-1 - Sri Lanka take the bowling Powerplay. It's a good time to take it as they have a new man in while Wade is still not timing the ball. Stand-in skipper Watson steers it to third man for a single. Wade cuts past backward point and comes back for a second.

  •

    Over 15 Dilshan 0-0-1-wd-1-1-0

78-1 - Shane Watson is the new batsman in. Wade takes a single to midwicket. Just going back to the Warner wicket, Maharoof went right up the batsman after the dismissal and nearly bumped into him. The umpire had word with him afterwards.

  •

    Over 14 Maharoof 1-1-1-1-0-W

75-1 - Sri Lanka need a wicket from somewhere here as Australia have a very long batting line-up. The problem is they are not building pressure from either end. Warner and Wade are picking up the singles very freely. WICKET! Sri Lanka get the breakthrough as Warner edges behind to the keeper. It goes across the left-hander and Warner gets a thick nick. Sangakkara dives to his left to take a solid catch.

  •

    Over 13 Dilshan 0-0-0-1-0-1

71-0 - Dilshan manages to keep Wade quiet for three balls, but the left-hander eventually gets off strike with a single through square leg. Warner goes through extra cover.

  •

    Over 12 Maharoof 1-0-4-1-0-1

69-0 - It sits up slightly from Maharoof and Warner pulls through deep midwicket for four.

  •

    Over 11 Dilshan 2-1-1-0-1-1

62-0 - Dilshan comes back into the attack, but again the two Australian openers can pick off the runs quite easily. Warner has 40 from 36 balls and he has only played one or two shots in anger.

  •

    Over 10 Maharoof 1-0-1lb-2-1-1

56-0 - Jayawardene throws the ball to Farveez Maharoof. Wade takes a single down the ground. Tucked off the hip by Warner. Six from the over without having to break a sweat.

  •

    Over 9 Kulasekara 2-0-0-0-1-0

50-0 - The introduction of Malinga hasn't really stopped the flow of runs. Sri Lanka need a breakthrough here. Another bowling change sees Kulasekara come back into the attack. Warner picks up two through point. Australia's half-ton comes up with a single to short fine leg.

  •

    Over 8 Malinga 1-3-0-4-0-1

47-0 - Wade takes another single. He doesn't need to do much more than turn the strike over. Through extra cover and three more to Warner. Nicely guided down to third man by Warner. The fielder slides around the rope, but his back leg just touches the rope and Wade picks up his first boundary.

  •

    Over 7 Dilshan 4-2-0-0-0-6

38-0 - Warner is really finding his range now as he picks up four more through the midwicket region with a slog sweep. A flighted delivery is hit through extra cover and it is two more to the total. Six! Warner is on fire as he clubs one over extra cover.

  •

    Over 6 Malinga 4-0-2-0-0-1

26-0 - Warner got hold of Kulasekara in the previous over so Jayawardene immediately turns to the experienced Lasith Malinga. Warner plays a one-handed shot and gets an inside edge past the stumps for four. Two more, this time to deep midwicket.

  •

    Over 5 Dilshan 1-1-0-0-0-1

19-0 - Couple of singles from the two left-handers. I am sure Matthew Wade will be thankful as he is not timing the ball just yet.

  •

    Over 4 Kulasekara 4-1-1-0-4-1

16-0 - Shot! Lovely straight punch from Warner and he picks up the first boundary of the day. Jayawardene responds by putting a man at short mid-off, but Warner goes leg-side for a single. After Wade takes a single, Warner plays a shot that Jacques Kallis would be proud of. He presents the full face of the bat and hits it straight over the bowler's head for a one-bounce four. Shot for lbw last ball as he misses a straight one, but it's not out.

    Over 3 Dilshan 0-0-0-1-0-2

5-0 - Warner looks to pierce the off-side a couple of times, but he can't find the gap. He finally goes leg-side and picks up a single. Wade uses his feet again and this time he gets it through square leg for a couple.

  •

    Over 2 Kulasekara 1-0-0-0-0-wd-0

2-0 - Right-arm fast bowler Nuwan Kulasekara shares the new ball. David Warner and Australia are up and running with a cut shot for a single. Gone? Nope! What is Wade doing? He runs down the track and looks to go over extra cover, but doesn't connect. Big shout for a faint nick from the Sri Lankans but the umpire says not out. It was well away from the bat. Sangakkara decides to come up to the stumps after that.

    Over 1 Dilshan 0-0-0-0-0-0

0-0 - It is once again Tillakaratne Dilshan to open the bowling with Matthew Wade on strike. Very tight stuff from the spinner. Like a boxing bout in that first over as they are just feeling each other out.

    Warner v Dilshan

The two openers may well decide the outcome of this CB Series finale. Will they go big again?

  •

    The surprisingly good series

That is what it has been dubbed by some. It has been rather good, hasn't it? Everyone thought it was going to be a walk in the park for Australia, but suddenly India got competitive and out of nowhere came Sri Lanka to make things interesting. Going by the first two 'finals', the decider will be a thriller.

    Team news

Australia have handed spinner Nathan Lyon an ODI debut. He comes into the side in place of pacer James Pattinson while Peter Forrest replaces injured captain Michael Clarke. Sri Lanka are unchanged. The full teams to follow shortly.

    Toss

Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene won the toss and elected to bowl first. Interesting choice, but they did chase brilliantly in the second final on Tuesday.

    Weather

Plenty of sun in Adelaide today, with temperatures hanging around 23 degrees Celsius and not a drop of rain forecast for the next 10 hours, at least.

    Greetings

Hello and welcome to our over-by-over commentary of the third and deciding ODI tri-series final between Australia and Sri Lanka at the Adelaide Oval. We're locked at one win apiece after David Warner's heroics in Brisbane and Tillakaratne Dilshan's damage earlier this week. Time will tell if we'll have a swashbuckling centurion today.
