135-3 - That is a superb shot from Raina - it wasn't a bad delivery from Perera, but a checked drive on the up from Raina sent it sailing through the gap between extra cover and mid-off. The left-hander is off to quite a start here. India need another 99 runs to win from 132 balls.
127-3 - I nelgected to mention during the last over that Kohli went to fifty, so he's going strong at the moment and remains the key wicket here. He nudges a single from the first ball, and after playing and missing at one, Suresh Raina gets off the mark with a glorious cover drive. The field was brought up to stop the single, so once he beats the infield it's four.
122-3 - Kohli is starting to work the ball nicely now, and he pulls away for two, then whips through wide mid-on for four - that just beat the fielder, and the outfield is so quick that there's no catching it once it's through the infield. WICKET! What a catch! Sharma absolutely smashed that to backward point, and although Dilshan only had to make a yard to his left and managed to get two hands to it comfortably, the sheer speed of the ball made it an excellent take. In fact, the super slow-mo shows that he only got the second hand there after the ball went into his left.
115-2 - Kulasekara returns - an opportunity to make up for his gaffe in the field - but Kohli decides it's time to take control. He comes down the pitch and lofts the ball over wide long-on, and a one-bounce four is the result. As we hit the halfway mark in the run-chase, India are a few runs short of being exactly halfway to victory.
108-2 - Prasad's bounce has been really awkward, but Kohli gets on top of it now as he pulls away behind square. Fine leg gets round to it, but makes a complete hash of it so four runs are the result. Kulasekara is the culprit. That's the first boundary in eight overs, and it's swiftly followed by another as Sharma gets a thick edge past slip.
99-2 - The powerplay is over but Jayawardene keeps the field up as Mathews switches end. There's still a little bit of swing, which keeps Sharma honest and ensures there are just a couple of singles as India continue to rebuild. The required run rate tops five per over for the first time.
97-2 - Prasad replaces Mathews, and nearly gets the better of Sharma as a top-edge hovers in the air but lands short of fine leg. Four singles come from the over, which means India have managed 10 for one in the powerplay. Who said they favoured the batting side?
93-2 - Kohli takes four balls to find a single, and then when Sharma comes on strike Sri Lanka employ a slip and a gully. That doesn't deter a couple of shots outside the off stump, but neither of them beat the field so it's another cheap over.
92-2 - Sri Lanka just looking to put the squeeze on India here. They managed 11 for one from the bowling powerplay in their innings, and look good to limit India to something similar. Rohit Sharma has come in at number four, and he gets off the mark with a turn to the leg side for a couple.
89-2 - Big shout for lbw against Tendulkar, but height was the problem - it hit him at the top of the back pad and so Paul Reiffel is unmoved - a decision that Eagle Eye backs up. WICKET! But that is definitely out, and so the Indian contingent in the stands fall deathly quiet. Tendulkar tries to ride one down to third man, but instead chops it on. Gone for 48. The reams of agency copy prepared for that 100th hundred remains in storage. And Sri Lanka's plan has worked - the powerplay has brought a much-needed wicket.
89-1 - Sri Lanka opt for the bowling powerplay, and throw the ball to Malinga. They need a wicket, so this is probably a good move. But India are in control and have no intention to change that, so they're happy to settle for singles where they're available. The required rate remains at 4.5 per over.
87-1 - It was at this stage that Sri Lanka started to lose it. Ashwin started his spell with a maiden, Sri Lanka's runs dried up and regular wickets meant they were constantly rebuilding. India show them how it's done, taking six singles off Dilshan without any fuss.
81-1 - Tendulkar gets beaten by some extra lift, but then gets bat on ball as he chases a wide one and gets a thick edge for four. A bit streaky - and he does seem to be going a little too hard at the ball at the moment - but the result is alright. A single off the last ball takes him to 44, and also takes us to the drinks break.
73-1 - India are almost exactly where Sri Lanka were at the same stage, but of course they have the benefit of knowing exactly how many they need. Sri Lanka introduce Tillakaratne Dilshan, who has his head in his hands after Tendulkar gets across his stumps to paddle away fine for two. Risky, but he knew what he was doing.
68-1 - Poor start by Thisara Perera, drifting onto the pads to allow Kohli to flick away nice and fine for four runs. That brings up the fifty partnership in 64 balls, which is just about perfect for India, and then another push off the pads brings a couple more through midwicket.
62-1 - A tight over from Mathews brings a slog from Tendulkar at the end of it, but he fails to make contact and is instead hit on the inside of the leg. Mathews is getting a bit of movement off the deck, which shows what a great pitch this is - it has bounce and pace, which batsmen often enjoy, but also something for the bowlers.
60-1 - There aren't many batsmen in the world who play the glance as attractively as Kohli, and he gets four more as he flicks away square on the leg side. A boundary here and there is all India need really - they're working the ball around for ones and twos so well that they're keeping up with the required rate easily.
53-1 - Angelo Mathews into the attack now, and he so nearly has Tendulkar. The batsman looked to lean back and nudge the ball down to third man but it just kept following him, and eventually a bottom edge goes just over the top of the stumps and beats the keeper Sangakkara. Couldn't have missed the woodwork by more than a centimetre or two.
47-1 - There was pretty good support for both teams in the first innings, but the India fans are really starting to find their voice. They cheer a couple of singles really loudly, then get even more excited when Tendulkar cracks one away behind point for two more.
43-1 - An inside edge brings Tendulkar a couple, and then he nudges wide of mid-on for a single. That gives Kohli the strike, and he drives on the up through cover-point for four - he wasn't completely in control of the shot but he hit the gap and struck it well enough.
36-1 - Some more lovely strokes from Tendulkar, but he can't beat the field this time until he angles a rising delivery down to third man for a single. Prasad is using this pitch cleverly - taking advantage of the bounce the cramp the batsmen on off stump.
35-1 - Kulasekara has switched ends, but while he has a point and a backward point for Tendulkar that's not good enough. A wristy cut angles the ball away behind backward point, and third man can't get around to cut the ball off. A well-timed push off the back foot brings a single because mid-on can only half stop it.
30-1 - Kulasekara has bowled well but Jayawardene makes a change and brings on Dhammika Prasad, who's playing his first game this year because of injury. His extra bounce causes a few problems for Kohli, who gets a couple of inside edges - one of them straight onto the unmentionables. That takes the wind out of him for a while, but he's back up eventually and manages to get down the other end with a leg-bye.
28-1 - Tendulkar showing signs of form here, which is worrying for Sri Lanka. First he gets forward to nudge down the ground for four, checking his shot and timing it perfectly, and then later in the over he's driving off the back foot. Again he doesn't smash it, but the timing sends the ball running away from the chasing fielder. Immediately the commentators curse him by asking whether this will be the day that he gets that 100th hundred.
19-1 - Despite not being able to get the ball away due to Kulasekara's disciplined line, Kohli looks in control as he blocks the inswingers. He just has a confidence about the way he's playing that suggests he's not going to get out, and feels entirely comfortable.
18-1 - WICKET! Another boundary, and then the fun is over. A wide ball is slapped away through point for four, but two balls later the bounce gets the better of him. He went for the flay over backward point but the ball got big on him and he ended up lifting it to third man's right. Kulasekara got round to take a good catch. Virat Kohli is the number three, and he's off the mark with a delightful flick through square leg for four. Sublime timing.
10-0 - There goes Sehwag, teeing off over extra cover as Nuwan Kulasekara pitches the ball up. A single to fine leg hands the strike to Tendulkar, and he drives through the covers for a couple more to make it a handy over for India. Sri Lanka can't afford to let them get off to a flier.
3-0 - We're back underway with Lasith Malinga bowling to Virender Sehwag. The batsman nudges the first ball to gully on the bounce and grabs a single as the fielder can only parry. Malinga's getting some outswing, but he bowls too straight to Sachin Tendulkar and is turned away to the leg side for a couple.
Jayawardene would've wanted at least 40 more after winning the toss and choosing to bat first. India bowled very well, using just five bowlers compared to their usual seven or eight - part-timers included. Dilshan enjoyed a burst at the top of the knock but then slowed down, after which Chandimal held the middle together before Mathews staved off a lower-order demise. Ashwin and Zaheer, in particular, bowled very well. Stick around for the chase. It should be a cracker.
233-8 - Only five bowlers, not one part-timer, used by India today. WICKET! Vinay looks to finish in a strong manner, succeeding with the scalp of Kulasekara, whose skier falls into the hands of Rohit in the point area. Malinga is in now and quick to scamper the singles on offer. It's boundaries that they wan't, though. Not forthcoming, however.
227-7 - Mathews and Kulasekara want runs heaved in front of the wicket, but they're not really succeeding, with the former eventually opting behind the wicket with a deft tickle to the thirdman fence. Yes, there was more edge than middle in that, but the desired result arrives regardless.
216-7 - Seagulls all over the place and disturbing the cricket time and time again. Meanwhile, Vinay is deploying the slower ball superbly. Kulasekara certainly wants to, but can't even skew it off the square.
211-7 - Some acrobatic theatrics, involving foot, cuff, a piece of clothing and all, from Vinay prevents four on the long-off fence. Khan appreciates that, and would've done the same for his fellow fast bowler. A run saved is a run made. Raina is later into play in the same area, stopping four more and crashing into the security guard beyond the fence for the cause. Nobody hurt.
204-7 - Sri Lanka bring up their 200, but really the landmark should have arrived at least five overs ago. Meanwhile, Dhoni takes a blow to the thumb on the back of a leg-side wide. He is in pain, and hopefully that's not severe. WICKET! Thirimanne's lame innings then ends with a run-out. He was like a duck out of water at eight in the order. He wanted a single pushed wide of backward point. Non-striker Mathews didn't. The left-hander had to turn on his heels and scamper for the crease. He was never in with a chance of making it back in time. Dhoni, hurt thumb and all, does the rest. Kulasekara in now.
199-6 - Poor fielding from Zaheer in the the thirdman region, giving away an overthrow with a wild return toss. Vinay is finding the blockhole with great regularity, and still Sri Lanka sit on just 14 boundaries for the innings. We haven't seen a four since the 39th over. That drought meets its end, though, when Mathews nails one through the line all the way to the long-off fence.
189-6 - WICKET! Chandimal launches out of his crease, looks to heave the ball through the on-side, falls over the shot, is beaten by a bit of turn, which ricochets off his stumps and into the wicketkeeeper's gloves. Dhoni takes his time in toppling the bails, and really that's a tough stumping opportunity. He had to gather quickly, steady the ball and then finish the job. Chandimal might've made it back to his crease had he even tried. Instead he gave up straightaway. Two new men at the crease for Sri Lanka now, ideal for India. Thirimanne in now - a Test match opener bating as low as eight in an ODI.
188-5 - The left-arm spinner returns to the attack. Chandimal really looking to go big now, but he is losing his shape in the shot and hence the mishits. He'd be better off looking to work the ball from the crease, rather than advance but not get to its pitch. Jadeja has now bowled his 10 overs for the day.
182-5 - Ashwin unleashes his trademark 'carrom' ball at the start of the over but it's not enough to fool Chandimal, who later looks to go large over midwicket but is thwarted by a superb diving stop on the fence by Kohli. Sri Lanka have managed only 14 boundaries today, so their quest to find the ropes is understandable.
177-5 - Superb display of 'death' bowling here, with Vinay not giving a lateral inch to Mathews. The right-hander doesn't have a clue as to the pace of this pitch at the moment. The bowler's variety of slower balls aren't helping the batsman's cause.
172-5 - Chandimal and Perera's collective intention to find the fence is very clear, perhaps too much so. WICKET! Ashwin advances down the track, the bowler sees him coming, drifts the ball away from the left-hander and beats him with a bit of turn. Dhoni is at hand for a lightning-fast stumping, with the batsman unable to drag his back foot behind the line in time. He gets toes on the line, but not behind. It's not enough. He must go. The pinch-hitting experiment didn't work. New coach Ford got that one wrong. Mathews in now. He should have walked to the crease four overs ago. That's the end of the bowling Powerplay too - 23 for one from it.
169-4 - Zaheer is yanked out of the attack after just one return and is replaced by the right-arm seamer, who coughs up an ugly wide to start, with Dhoni unable to collect it and hence one extra run. Perera later looks to offer himself room in a bid to swat the ball through the off-side, but is first thwarted by some great fielding in the covers and then an ugly swing'n'miss outside the off-stump. Chandimal, meanwhile, finds the middle for four heaved through midwicket to bring up his 50 off 66 balls, just four boundaries. It's the fourth of his career and first in Australia.
158-4 - Ashwin drops one or two short, but the line has the batsmen unable to find the gaps regardless of the generous length. More than halfway through the batting Powerplay and Sri Lanka have just nine runs from it thus far.
154-4 - The southpaw seamer's return to the attack should have brought him instant breakthrough, but Perera's thin edge isn't noticed by umpire Llong. Television replays - and HotSpot - show willow on that. India's anti-DRS stance costing them again. Zaheer later beats the batsman twice more outside the off-stump, with Perera seemingly a walking wicket at the moment.
152-4 - The batting Powerplay arrives. The three men allowed outside the circle are stationed at deep square-leg, deep mid-on and deep midwicket. No chasing the fences from Jayawardene and Chandimal yet, though. Instead they're prepared to milk the many gaps on offer for singles to bring up the half-century partnership. WICKET! When Jayawardene does decide it's time to go the aerial route amid a poor piece of premeditation, it proves to his detriment. Darting across his stumps to orchestrated the lofted sweep shot, the right-hander picks out Rohit on the backward square-leg fence. That's not what Sri lanka would have wanted at the start of this five-over gifthorse. Perera in now, promoted ahead of Mathews.
149-3 - With Jayawardene prone to the occasional edge, and very much looking to work the ball behind square on the off-side, Dhoni brings in the slip fielder. Jayawardene, though, is too swift and deft on the late dab to have Sehwag into play, with four racing past him.
144-3 - With Praveen's 10 overs for the day done and dusted, the off-spinneri s back into the attack. DROPPED! Almost immediate success for him, with Jayawardene' late, late cut resulting in a feathered edge. It's a very sharp chance for Dhoni, who only manages to get a bit of glove to it. The parry ricochets past him and that's quite a let-off for Sri Lanka.
139-3 - The straight boundary isn't that long, so Chandimal's slight mishit is enough for four. Sri Lanka sense they need to get a move on here, so one can expect more advances from them pretty soon. The batting Powerplay is due in the next 10 minutes or so.
131-3 - Chandimal drives wide of the sweeper cover and picks up a couple, and then he benefits from an unnecessary shy at the stumps by Tendulkar when no-one is backing up. The youngster's intent is clearer when he pulls through wide mid-on for four after shuffling across his stumps - he's decided it's time he had a go.
121-3 - Jayawardene gets annoyed with himself as he hits a half-volley straight back to the bowler. Five singles will help the cause, but they need to start to look for boundaries soon.
116-3 - Jayawardene looking pretty focused here, as you'd expect. That century of his in the World Cup final is still fresh in the memory, but it was so good that I'd be surprised if it was replicated in any circumstances. A quick 80 would do Sri Lanka pretty well today though.
113-3 - Too many cheap overs slipping by for Sri Lanka. I still think that 280 is a good score - maybe 260 is par. At this rate they'll need a big push at the end to get there.
112-3 - Glorious shot from Jayawardene - shot of the day so far. It's a front foot cut shot, but the flick of the wrists is classic Jayawardene, and is what gets the ball past backward point for four. He gets lucky at the end of the over though, as a leading edge loops just over Kohli at backward point.
106-3 - Huge shout for lbw against Jayawardene, but he got a decent stride in so even though it hit him in line, height was the issue. No DRS in this series of course, but Eagle-Eye had it only clipping the top of the stumps so it would have stayed with the umpire's call..
102-3 - Jayawardene edges Praveen, but does so with soft hands so Sehwag takes it on the bounce at slip. Just one run from the over though. Sri Lanka were just getting into their stride and now they've lost another wicket, so the rebuilding begins all over again.
101-3 - WICKET! Dilshan can't believe what he's done. A short, wide delivery has been lazily slapped to Kohli at point, and all that discipline and hard work has amounted to nothing. He knew as soon as he hit it that he'd stuffed up. Sri Lanka in a bit of bother now as their captain comes to the crease.
100-2 - Runs just starting to flow now, as Praveen bowls too straight and Chandimal steps inside the line to flick away fine for four. Praveen's response is a jagging delivery that beats the bat, and then a grumpy shy at the stumps next ball when Chandimal drives straight back to him.
94-2 - Finally a boundary from Dilshan just as the tension was building. He was really eager to get the ball away fine on the off side, and he finally received a delivery that was short enough to put away. Maybe that will spark something.
87-2 Dilshan is showing more responsibility than he ever did as captain. He shut up shop some time ago - before Sangakkara got out - and seems happy to bat as long as possible.
84-2 - Jadeja back into the attack now that the powerplay is over, and he only concedes a single. Sri Lanka need to milk some singles here and keep the scoreboard ticking along because they're getting a bit bogged down.
83-2 - Just 11 runs from the bowling powerplay as well as the wicket, so India have got a bit of a stranglehold here. Sri Lanka clearly fancy themselves to come up with the runs later on if they have wickets in hand.
79-2 - This is Zaheer's seventh over, so Sri Lanka will have that in the back of their minds - they'll fancy their chances against the other seamers later on. For the moment they're happy to rebuild.
77-2 - Really good time for India to get a wicket, because it's likely to limit the damage done in this powerplay. Dilshan has to take on more responsibility, and settles for a single.
74-2 - WICKET! There's the breakthrough India needed, and it's a very good catch by Dhoni. Zaheer found the edge as Sangakkara failed to move his feet, and although Dhoni was able to get two hands to it he was fully stretched. Tendulkar was standing very wide, so the keeper knew he had to go. Dinesh Chandimal is in at number four - must be to give Jayawardene a bit of breathing space now that he's captain, but might also be to stretch the experience through the order.
72-1 - It's bowling powerplay time, and perhaps that's why Jadeja is replaced by Ravi Ashwin. The offspinner certainly does a good job of it, conceding not even a single to Dilshan. That takes us to the first drinks break.
72-1 - Sangakkara drives hard into the pitch, which is so hard that the ball bounces over Raina at point and runs away for a couple. He tucks a straighter one to midwicket for a single, and then Dilshan rides the final ball down to third man.
68-1 - Ravindra Jadeja had a tough time of it in the series opener against Australia, but this is a tidy start. Sangakkara works a single to midwicket, and then Dilshan has to wait to the final ball of the over before he can cut away late and pick up a couple.
65-1 - Sri Lanka pick off the ones and twos, and the fifty partnership comes up in 60 balls. Eight from the over takes the run rate up to five per over, so they're going pretty well at this stage.
57-1 - Still some swing for Vinay, and it keeps Dilshan pretty honest. He settles for a single from the third ball, and then Sangakkara finds it difficult to get anything else away. When he finally does, it's an uppish glance that goes aerial between midwicket and mid-on. Beautifully timed, but also a bit risky.
51-1 - Praveen back on now - still two slips in place. But there's a big gap at midwicket and so Sangakkara maoeuvres the ball into the gap and picks up three. It's a much better over than Praveen's first though, and Dilshan can't collar anything despite his best efforts.
46-1 - Attempted bouncer from Vinay, but it doesn't get up high enough and Dilshan pulls it away with venom through square leg. The crowd oohs and aahs as the ball races to the boundary rope. A couple of singles makes it six from the over, and if I had to make a stab at this early stage, I would say that 280 is looking a good score on what is a pretty good batting strip.
40-1 - Just a couple of singles from Zaheer's over, so despite Dilshan's crunching boundaries Sri Lanka haven't been able to get off to a runaway start. Their run-rate is a touch under 4.5 so far.
38-1 - Dilshan gets a bit carried away and comes down the pitch for a huge swipe and a miss. Not really necessary that, and he does better later in the over when he creams a half-volley past mid-off for four more.
32-1 - Dilshan's looking like his old self here, moving his feet well and getting the hands going as well - it's quick hands that you notice as he cracks Zaheer straight down the ground for four. He also likes the ball coming onto the bat, so he'll be happy to be batting in Perth.
25-1 - Vinay digs in a great bouncer and beats Dilshan's attempted hook, but four leg-byes is the result as the ball glances off Dilshan's helmet and goes just over the keeper for four. Vinay's showing some good pace here, and seems to be improving with every limited overs match he plays at the moment.
20-1 - Kumar Sangakkara off the mark in streaky fashion, as a leading edge flies wide of backward point and runs away for four. That outswing from Zaheer is proving a real menace. A single brings Dilshan on strike, and he thrashes a full ball through the off side and runs hard to pick up three.
12-1 - Ruthless stuff from Dhoni, who hauls Praveen off after one bad over and replaces him with Vinay Kumar. The new bowler justifies that decision, finding the right length and tucking Dilshan up as much as possible. Dilshan is beaten by one, and then nearly chops another delivery on. Maiden, so the pressure is on Sri Lanka.
12-1 - WICKET! Top bowling from Zaheer - he beats Tharanga with the outswinger, then finds an even better length as the left-hander advances down the pitch and has him caught at first slip. He's been getting some lovely away swing, so Tharanga was trying to counter that but it didn't work. Tendulkar takes the catch fairly comfortable. A maiden wicket.
12-0 - I've been looking forward to seeing Tillakaratne Dilshan bat again without the captaincy, and he's off to a typically cracking start here as he laces a wide one through the off side. However the second boundary is even better - Praveen Kumar tried to find some extra bounce, but Dilshan just stood up tall on it and gave it a jolly good welt. Raced away to the cover rope.
3-0 - Zaheer Khan gets us underway, and finds some nice shape away from the left-handed Upul Tharanga to start with. However it's a touch short to find the edge, and as he looks for the fuller one Zaheer overpitches and is driven nicely down the ground for a couple. A single to third man makes it a solid enough start for Tharanga.
There's some grass on the WACA pitch, but it's a bit patchy so Ian Chappell reckons that the odd one might take off. Generally though we can expect good bounce and plenty of carry. Interesting that India have gone in with two spinners plus the part-timers.

A couple of changes for India - Virender Sehwag yesterday said that three openers would rotate throughout the series, and so today it's Gautam Gambhir who sits out so that Sehwag can open with Sacvhin Tendulkar. Rahul Sharma is the other man to miss out - apparently because he's injured - as Zaheer Khan comes in.
Mahela Jayawardene has won the toss in his first game back in the captaincy, and Sri Lanka are going to have a bat first up.
We're in Perth today for India versus Sri Lanka. Let's get right to it.
