118-4 - Another probing over from Rankin, who has a slip in place. Yuvraj and Dhoni are very watchful and pick up only a couple of singles. Nervy times for India and their supporters...
116-4 - Off-spinner White, recalled to the side in place of Gary Wilson, has been rather unthreatening to be honest. After conceding three successive singles, he then serves up a high full toss which Dhoni slams away through extra cover for a boundary.
109-4 - I'm struggling to keep up here as Porterfield brings opening bowler Rankin back into the attack. He comes back strongly, too, conceding just two as Dhoni pulls a short ball through midwicket. India require another 99 runs with 6 wickets and 24.0 overs remaining
107-4 - Ireland continue to apply plenty of pressure as Stirling looks to turn the screw. He does a great job, too, until a rare short ball is offered up to Yuvraj, who makes no mistake, clubbing him over midwicket.
102-4 - Finally some attacking intent from Kohli, who powers White down towards the mid-on boundary. It looked destined for four, however Rankin came across quickly to save three runs. That's the India 100! WICKET! What an almighty mix-up! It has all ended with Kohli sulking back to the pavilion having made 34. Yuvraj turned a short ball away towards the covers, Kohli charged off for a single, Yuvraj stayed put and Ireland completed a simple run out. Dhoni is in with his side stuttering, and immediately gets off the mark. India have approached this innings in an extremely odd manner.
99-3 - India inch closer to three figures with another over dominated by singles. Dockrell is bowing beautifully though and looks certain to have a massive future ahead of him.
95-3 - Only one over for KOB as Stirling returns. He is too short on his return, though, and Yuraj is able to keep the scoreboard ticking over with a couple of couples either side of the wicket.
90-3 - WICKET! Out of nowhere Ireland have removed Tendulakar! Dockrell, back into the attack, has caused the great man problems all evening and he has finally got his man. It was a rather ugly attempt at a sweep, in truth, and he was struck on the back leg bang in front of middle stump. After a chat with partner Kohli, Tendulkar opts to walk off instead of challenging the call. Yuvraj, fresh from his five-wicket haul, is in, and quickly off the mark.
87-2 - Kevin O'Brien is the next man into the attack with his dibbly-dobblers. Brother Niall is standing up to the stumps as Ireland attempt to apply some pressure. The result is the same as seemingly every other over though, as the procession of singles continue.
83-2 - Stirling, bowling much flatter with a leg gully in place, starts well before the inevitable flurry of singles continue. Tendulkar is 36no, Kohli 29no.
79-2 - Cheeky from Tendulkar, very, very cheeky. Down on one knee, the Little Master sweeps White fine and all the way to the fence. A flurry of singles follow as India move closer to the victory target.
71-2 - Stirling nearly sneaks one through Kohli's defences with a ball that rips back into the right-hander from outside off stump. A much better over from the off-spinner, who concedes only two.
69-2 - The Dockrell experiment did not last long as Porterfield continues to rotate his slow bowlers. White has a go this time, and concedes just three singles. No problems for Tendulkar (27no) and Kohli (24)
66-2 - More erratic bowling from Stirling here. It is all to easy for India at the moment. They are masters of playing spin and the Irishman is being milked at will.
62-2 - A switch of ends for Dockrell, who replaces Mooney. Singles continue to be the order of the day, however Tendulkar so nearly holes out off the final ball, his chip over extra cover just bouncing short of the boundary sweeper.
59-2 - Porterfield makes a like-for-like change as Stirling replaces Dockrell. The Irish off-spinner makes a dreadful start, though, dragging his first ball down and allowing Kohli to power it through square leg for four. Eight off the over as Tendulkar and Kohli both move menacingly into the 20s.
51-2 - Mooney replaces Johnston (2-16) and starts with an appetising half-tracker which Kohli gleefully pulls away through midwicket for a boundary. The India 50 comes up off the penultimate ball of the over as India keep the scoreboard ticking over at a healthy rate.
44-2 - DROP! Huge let-off for India and Kohli as Kevin O'Brien grasses a diving catch at short extra cover. It was a tough chance, but one Ireland need to take if they are to win this. Just a single off another probing over from Dockrell.
Ireland have taken the bowling powerplay
43-2 - The crowd go wild as Tendulkar plays a dreamy on-drive away to the boundary midway through the over. There are more problems for Ireland and in particular Johnston two balls later when the veteran seamer crashes to the turf on his follow through and requires some medical attention. After a rather lengthy stoppage as Trent gets his knee taped up, Johnston returns to finish the last over of the mandatory powerplay.
37-2 - The pressure builds on Kohli after four successive dots but he responds with a boundary, albeit an extremely streaky one. He was completely beaten in the flight and ended up yorking himself. Fortunately, though, he just managed to get an inside edge onto the ball and it raced away to the fine leg fence. Dockrell can't believe it.
33-2 - Another tidy over from Johnston, who concedes just three singles. 175 more runs required for victory. India still firm favourites.
30-2 - With just six overs bowled, Porterfield introduces spin for the first time in the form of teenager Dockrell. Tendulkar is all over him immediately though, ruthlessly seizing on a half volley and driving him away through extra cover for four. A sprawling Porterfield saves another boundary, however the Ireland skipper picks up a minor injury whilst doing so. A couple of singles follow as Dockrell's opening over yields six runs.
Irishman Sharkey has been in touch. He says: " I'm new to cricket, it's still weird that we play cricket in Ireland. I never saw or have seen a cricket ground in Ireland par from Dublin, which I had to look up they have a couple. Come on Ireland, this could be the next shock in the cricket world cup." It is quite remarkable how well they are competing with the 'powerhouse nations'. They have fantastic team spirit and just do not know when they are beaten!
24-2 - WICKET! Or maybe not... Johnston strikes again and Gambhir can't believe what he has just done! The India left-hander somehow contrived to flick a leg-side delivery straight to Cusack at short fine leg and the fieldsman held on well with the ball travelling at a fair lick. Gambhir goes for 10, Kohli is the new man. Another quick wicket here and Ireland will really fancy their chances of causing yet another famous upset. Five dots follow and Johnston wraps up a wicket-maiden. Game on!
24-1 - Sachin shows off his flexible wrists with a leg side single early in the over. Gambhir then eclipses his partner with an elegant leg glance which beats short fine leg and races to the fence. Poor ball, great shot. India moving along nicely.
18-1 - Johnston, perhaps harshly, is wided after firing down a bouncer at Tendukar. The 'Little Master' pinches a single a couple of balls later as Ireland are guilty of switching off in the field. There is no chance for the fielders next ball though as Gambhir gives himself room and flays Johnston through the covers for four. It was hit in the air, however the fielders were dissected beautifully
12-1 - A better over from Rankin, who causes the odd problem for Gambhir with his steep bounce. A single apiece for both India batsmen.
10-1 WICKET! Stunned silence as Johnston strikes with his very first ball! Sehwag tries to work the ball through the leg side, however he only succeeds in presenting a leading edge straight back to the bowler who can hardly believe his luck! Johnston celebrates with a rather questionable chicken dance. The Irish are delighted! Gambhir is the new batsman, and he denies Trent a wicket maiden with a single off the last ball.
9-0 - I think Sehwag and Tendulkar are in a rush to see the football too! Sehwag punches the first ball through the covers for four. Pure timing. Only a diving stop on the fine leg fence prevents back-to-back boundaries, however the Bangalore crowd are up again when Tendulkar clips his first delivery through midwicket for four more.

So it's time for a break in Bangalore, giving you time to put the kettle on, get some food and digest England's quite remarkable win over South Africa in Chennai. India are on course for a victory themselves thanks to a five-wicket haul from Yuvraj Singh. Zaheer also weighed in with 3-30 as Ireland were dismissed in 47.4 overs after being put into bat.
207 - WICKET! - Ireland's innings ends as Johnston is adjudged lbw playing around his front pad. Again umpire Tucker takes his time before agreeing with Munaf's loud appeal. A review is used up but the ball was clipping leg, meaning the on-field decision stands. Having at one stage been cruising along at 122-2, Ireland have been bowled out for 207 with more than two overs to spare.
201-9 - WICKET! - After Dockrell gets a single off the first ball to get him on strike, Johnston thumps a rare full toss from Zaheer straight down the ground for four, with mid-on up inside the circle. Zaheer thinks he's got his revenge straight away when he hits the same batsman with a full inswinger, but the ball had pitched outside leg stump. However, the bowler does get Dockrell with the final ball of the over thanks to a smart, diving catch by Dhoni behind the stumps.
195-8 - Johnston ends the over with a little tickle down past the short fine leg for a welcome Irish boundary - I have to say India's frontline bowlers (apart from Zaheer) have not bowled well today but Yuvraj's haul has got them out of a hole. You still don't feel this is an attack with enough about it to really threaten the top teams in the competition. Mind you, if they bat first and make 370 every time, how many countries will chase that down??!!
188-8 - I'm not sure really if Ireland are being helped by the batting powerplay - Johnston twice hits nice shots to full balls but on each occasion finds a fielder inside a now packed circle. A wide helps limp Ireland's score along to 188 - can they reach something in the region of 220? Munaf could be someone to target as he returns to the attack for just his fourth over of the match.
184-8 - WICKET! - And Yuvraj has a Michelle! He becomes the first left-arm spinner to take a five-for in the World Cup. Cusack falls lbw despite initially being given not out by the on-field umpire. He pushed well forward to one that straightened and hit his front pad. The distance left to travel is an issues, but umpire Tucker is told to overturn his original decision. Yuvraj celebrates his haul by holding up all five fingers to the crowd. George Dockrell is in at No.10 and with batsmen running out, Ireland call for the batting powerplay at the end of Yuvraj's spell - he's taken 5-31 from his 10.
181-7 - Four singles milked off Yuvraj, but Ireland need a little more than ones to give themselves a chance. Meanwhile in Chennai...England have won! Somehow they've managed to bowl out South Africa for 164, Stuart Broad taking the final two wickets. Win, lose or draw (and they've now had one of each), there's no doubting England are the team to go and see during this World Cup!
178-7 - WICKET! - Yuvraj has a fourth victim! It's Mooney who is the latest to fall to the left-armer, although not before he's reviewed the lbw decision. Pushing forward, he's beaten by one that turns back in from around the wicket. Umpire Tucker takes a long time before raising his finger. Replays show he was hit in line and that the delivery was going on to clip the top of middle. Mooney departs and Ireland are in danger of not batting out the overs here.
175-6 - Zaheer's gettting a hint of swing back in to the left-handed Mooney, who ends up patting back four balls in the over before flicking the last away for a couple of runs. England have struck late in Chennai - South Africa need another 12 runs with two wickets in hand. Meanwhile in Bangalore, Yuvraj continues...
172-6 - Cusack again pulls out the nine iron, lofting Yuvraj superbly into the large gap at mid-wicket for four. The same batsman also survives a sharp piece of work from Dhoni behind the stumps, the right-hander just getting his foot back in the crease in time, although the third umpire took several looks at the replays before giving a 'not out' decision. Zaheer is now coming back on - he could bowl through to the conclusion as he still has five overs left.
165-6 - A maiden from the returning Harbhajan as Mooney looks to play himself in. There's still plenty of time left in this innings for Ireland and also a batting powerplay to come. You do feel, though, that these two offer the last real hope for a competitive total.
165-6 - WICKET! - Porterfield's fine knock comes to a tame end when he smacks a long hop from Yuvraj straight to Harbhajan at extra cover. The drinks break has led to the departure of Ireland's skipper and now the innings is in serious danger of going down the pan. However John Mooney's arrival offers hope - he did superbly with the bat at the death against England and is off the mark today with a single out to deep square leg. Cusack then finishes the over in style, lifting Yuvraj away to deep mid-wicket for a welcome boundary as the ball dribbles over the rope.
160-5 - Chawla continues to go around the park. Cusack gets four down the ground after moving his feet to make a delivery a full toss. He looks set to get another boundary in the same region later in the over, only for a superb diving stop by Yusuf to deny him a run. Still, it's another nine conceded by the leg-spinner - is he bowling himself out of India's team here? Something to ponder as we take DRINKS in Bangalore.
151-5 - Cusack sees out a maiden from Yuvraj - the left-arm offie has now rattled his way through six overs at a cost of just 13 runs, as well as picking up the wickets of White and O'Brien. What's that coming over the hill? Is it a monster, is it a monster? No, it's the batting powerplay, and Ireland need to work out now when to take it.
150-5 - Cusack, who did so well in the run chase against England at this venue on Wednesday, gets off the mark with a push down to long-off. Porterfield is now the key for Ireland as Chawla escapes with just three singles. Meanwhile, in Chennai, South Africa are edging their way towards a win over England.
147-5 - WICKET! - O'Brien goes, and in rather tame fashion too. The Irish hero against England chips back a return catch to Yuvraj, who gleefully accepts the gift to get his second scalp. O'Brien will be fuming at getting out in such a weak fashion; he might as well have perished trying to clear the ropes than offering up a simple caught-and-bowled opportunity. Alex Cusack is new in at seven and nearly run out first ball! His second should have definitely seen him heading back to the hutch, though, but Yuvraj can't hang on to a return catch. That opportunity was much tougher in fairness, coming at just above head height.
146-4 - This should be the perfect situation for Chawla to bowl in; Ireland need to rebuild again and there's turn there for him. He looks set for a steady over until then dragging the last ball down, allowing O'Brien to smack him away through extra cover for a boundary. Chawla's now conceded 44 from his six overs.
139-4 - O'Brien cracks away a short ball for a couple of runs to conclude the over. Ireland need more magic from the big man today, because you get the feeling 280 is needed. At the moment they are only on target for something in the region of 230 to 240.
134-4 - Well here's a calculated gamble by Dhoni - he's bringing back Chawla in an obvious show of support for the struggling leg spinner. O'Brien thinks about having a go, but in the end only chips a mis-hit drive over the top of cover for a single. The last ball of the over then rips past his outside edge, leading to a nod of approval from the batsman.
131-4 - WICKET! - Yuvraj strikes as White is caught behind pushing forward. It's a good catch by Dhoni and fine reward for the bowler, who has probably looked the pick of India's spinners today. Kevin O'Brien strides out with plenty of pressure on his shoulders - and not just because of the match situation. He's off the mark with a single to long-off.
129-3 - White goes on the sweep to get two of the five runs that come from Harbhajan's eighth over - the off-spinner hasn't been expensive but he hasn't looked like taking too many wickets either. Niall in Galway is daring to dream - "Is it too early to think that maybe, just maybe, Ireland have a chance of causing an even bigger shock by taking out India in their own backyard?". It's possible, but they will need a big total to challenge such a powerful batting line-up, particularly as batting will become easier under the floodlights.
124-3 - White gets off the mark with a single from the final ball of the Yuvraj over. India have now popped a slip back in, perhaps sensing there's a chance to pick up a clatter of wickets. They might have expected to have run through the Irish order after having them 9-2, but Porterfield and O'Brien did superbly in that third-wicket stand.
122-3 - WICKET! - Disaster for Ireland! Just as these two lefties were cruising along, a run-out ends their third-wicket alliance at 113. It's O'Brien who perishes, paying the price for taking on Virat Kohli's arm at cover. The fielder did well to turn and throw the ball to Dhoni all in one motion and despite a desperate dive, Ireland's wicketkeeper was just short of his ground to depart for 46. Andrew White, who is back in the team today at the expense of Gary Wilson, is the new man in at No.5.
120-2 - I don't really want to lose readers, but there's a superb finish in store in Chennai. England have just taken a sixth South African wicket with the Proteas needing a further 48 for victory. Here, meanwhile, Dhoni turns to Yuvraj after Chawla's four overs went for a rather expensive 34 runs.
118-2 - Now even Harbhajan is struggling to find the right speed to bowl. He's normally keen to fire it through but instead is offering plenty of flight. Porterfield takes advantage, taking a step down the wicket before slapping the ball away past mid-on for four. Lucy has just woken up and is now logging on for updates, while Gurinder is an India fan who isn't worried...yet. These are not good signs for the co-hosts.
110-2 - Porterfield drives a long, long half volley away past the fielder at extra cover to bring up his 50, his fifth in ODI cricket, in style with a boundary. The Ireland captain has batted superbly ever since being dropped from the second ball of the match - what a costly miss by Yusuf. Chawla over-steps for a second time, giving O'Brien at a free hit. However, his reverse sweep just takes the glove and loops up to the leg slip. Still, with three wides as well, it's a 10-ball over that finishes with boos ringing out from the crowd. Chawla is struggling badly.
100-2 - Ireland's century comes up at the end of an over that costs 10 runs. Porterfield picked up four from the first ball - a rank long hop - and O'Brien also benefited from something a little short in length, back-cutting Yusuf away past the short third man for another four. This is now Ireland's highest third-wicket partnership in one-day cricket.
90-2 - Well, this situation leaves me wondering about India. Clearly batting is their strongest area (it will always be that way with players like Tendulkar, Sehwag, Singh and Dhoni) but their bowling should be looking a lot more dangerous than this, particularly on a pitch that is offering turn to their plethora of slow bowlers. 86-2 - Yusuf's a little better in the over, giving it more of a chance by throwing it further up to the batsmen. The cameras pan around the field and focus on Yuvraj Singh - perhaps he is worth a few over, particularly as he tends to bowl a bit flatter than the rest? Chawla will continue, but he looks short of confidence after his mauling at the hands of England.
82-2 - Chawla swaps to over the wicket, bringing about a half-hearted shout for leg before against O'Brien. Yet after seeing how difficult it is to play forward with any confidence due to the turn, the leggie then drops it short to allow Porterfield to pick up a couple with a cut backward of point. A half volley driven down the ground makes it five from the over.
77-2 - This is all coming a little easy for Ireland - India's spinners - particularly Yusuf and Harbhajan - have been guilty of bowling too slowly on this docile surface, allowing the two left-handers to play comfortably off the back foot.
73-2 - First bowl of the day for leggie Chawla - he's got a slip and a leg slip to start with. Porterfield picks off a short ball first up for an easy single to bring up the 50 stand between himself and O'Brien. There's turn, though, for the bowler. The only issue is that he's starting it off far too straight. A no ball for over-stepping gives Porterfield a free hit, and the Ireland skipper takes full advantage by smashing the 100th six of the tournament over square leg. 15 runs from Chawla's first over as we take DRINKS in Bangalore.
58-2 - Porterfield rocks back and slaps away a short ball from Yusuf. It's hit well but a more athletic sweeper than Munaf could have cut that off - is that really the best man India have to field out on the boundary rope? Yusuf decides to switch to over the wicket after going for that boundary, although not until a policeman has casually walked across in front of the sightscreen, seemingly unaware that a cricket match is even going on.
51-2 - Ireland's half-century comes up when O'Brien cuts away a long hop for two. Harbhajan, who is giving the ball plenty of air in the hope of getting it to dip and spin off this dry surface, has moved out the silly point but still has a slip in place.
47-2 - A mis-timed pull gets Porterfield two more runs out to the vast spaces at mid-wicket. Still, Yusuf concedes just three runs in the final over of the bowling powerplay. It will now be interesting to see if Dhoni relaxes the field, despite Ireland going along at only a touch above three runs an over.
44-2 - John is waiting for Kevin O'Brien to come to the middle. Aren't we all? After his heroics on Wednesday, the big all-rounder will today get to bat against a country who are obsessed with limited overs cricket, and then there's the small matter of an Indian Premier League season just around the corner, too. Dhoni continues to tinker with his field but Ireland are managing to pick up singles a little too easily. This is a good pitch for spinners to bowl on, yet Harbhajan has a man out at long-off for both batsmen. Why not make the two batsmen take a risk?
40-2 - Munaf pays the price for straying too close to O'Brien's pads at the start of his third over, the left-hander flicking a back-of-a-length delivery through backward square leg for a welcome boundary. After a leg bye from the next ball, Munaf seems to be keen to offer a word or two of advice to the wicketkeeper-batsman. The bowler should instead focus on bowling in better areas - Ireland get eight from the over.
32-2 - O'Brien drives with the spin away for two through a sizeable gap on the off side - India still have the man in at silly point...only for him to be dropped back after the fifth ball of the over. Harbhajan had earlier sent down the very first wide of the day in the 12th over. These two are doing a steady job for Irish, though they will know that the scoring rate needs lifting.
28-2 - O'Brien works a single to leg but there's nothing else for Ireland during the Munaf over. And the e-mails keep on coming! Bob is in bed nursing his head (there's no indication whether he's a modern-day elephant man or simply struggling with a hangover or illness). Meanwhile, David is logging on due to a lack of a television...in East Timor! The wonders of the worldwide web.
27-2 - Dhoni has placed a silly point in for both left-handers, showing that spin is going to be the key on this worn surface that is going to get baked by the sun. The mandatory powerplay finishes but we're going straight into another five overs of fielding restrictions. India are also going to give Zaheer a break - Munaf comes back on after sending down just one over earlier in the day.
26-2 - Niall O'Brien reaches 1,000 runs in one-day cricket with a lovely drive that beats two fielders in the cover region and goes all the way to the fence. He is just the third Irishman to achieve the feat in ODI's- the other two being Porterfield, his current batting partner, and his younger brother, Kevin O'Brien. Another drive from the wicketkeeper-batsman looks set to get through the infield until Yuvraj dives acrobatically at backward point to keep it down to a single. That's what India need to do in the field - had they thrown themselves about like that against England then they probably would have come out on top.
21-2 - O'Brien picks up a single into the off side in a first over from Harbhajan that also sees one delivery spin sharply past Porterfield's outside edge. While we've had three bowlers on at one end, Zaheer is now going to begin his fifth over from the other. The average first-innings total at Bengalore is 262, though the average in day-night matches is 282.
20-2 - SHOOOTTTTTTT! Zaheer decides to test out the middle of the pitch, allowing Porterfield to pull away in style in front of square leg for his second boundary. Ireland's skipper will want to make some runs here, particularly after not getting too many against either Bangladesh or England. Another over, another change from Dhoni. Harbhajan is taking over from Yusuf in a like-for-like spin swap.
15-2 - Porterfield gets lucky when a top-edged sweep falls safely between two fielders out towards deep backward square leg. Fielding was one area where India were particularly poor against England last week, though neither man had any chance of taking that catch. O'Brien jabs away two behind backward point before keeping the strike with a single into the covers.
11-2 - Sorcha Holloway says I shouldn't even suggest at not doing commentary on all the Ireland games - did I really suggest that? We are covering EVERY game during this tournament. Dee says that around 20 members of her family are reading on, as is Gavin, an eternal optimist hoping lightning can strike twice in Bangalore. At the moment there's little striking being down at all - Ireland have just seen out a second successive maiden as they look to recover from a very shaky start. Can't help but be impressed by Zaheer - what a clever bowler he is and possibly THE key player in India's one-day side.
11-2 - Khalid sent an e-mail before play started suggesting Ireland needed to make 300 here today, that way putting pressure on India's much-vaunted top order. At the moment they just need to bat the 50 overs - Yusuf's first ball spins and bounces past Porterfield's outside edge, suggesting the plethora of slow bowlers at Dhoni's disposal should enjoy bowling on this surface. It's a maiden from Pathan.
11-2 - WICKET! - The Irish are wobbling here, Ed Joyce becoming the second wicket to fall to Zaheer. Having seen the previous ball swing away, take the outside edge and fly past second slip for four, the canny left-armer holds the next one up. Playing for movement, Joyce pushes firmly away from his body but only gets an inside edge that Dhoni takes well diving low down to his right. Here's a surprise too, India are turning to Yusuf Pathan after just one over from Munaf.
5-1 - Porterfield gives those Irish fans inside the ground something to smile about with a cracking cover drive in an otherwise tight first over from Munaf. It turns out there's plenty of you bothering to read - my apologies for doubting you! Richard has decided to give up on England already, instead choosing to focus his attention on this Group B fixture. Meanwhile, Damian is following on his I Pod and Peter is one of many "honorary Oirish" today.
1-1 - WICKET! - As if the full house wasn't pumped up already, Zaheer sends the (vast) majority of the crowd into raptures by cleaning up Stirling. The right-hander found himself on strike after seeing skipper Porterfield dropped by Yusuf Pathan at second slip. However, Stirling is not so fortunate, Zaheer getting one to swing back in between bat and pad to hit middle stump.
