Mikkel Kessler dismissed Carl Froch's weigh-in tirade and is determined to silence his rival with a victory on Saturday night.

Froch appeared keen to get a mental edge over his rival as he engaged Kessler in a lengthy exchange of words on the podium, with tensions briefly threatening to spill over.

"I like Carl because he wants to fight and I want to fight too, but I'm ready for 12 rounds."

Kessler revealed how 'The Cobra' tried to assert his superiority, but he brushed off Froch's fighting talk ahead of the Sky Sports Box Office clash at the 02 Arena in London.

"It's just mentally for Carl. He said he was better than the last time. I said I'm 10 times better this time than I was the last time," he told Sky Sports News.

"I said 'you want to kill me' and he didn't want to kill me so I'm happy about that."

Kessler admits he has made changes to his fighting style since the first encounter with Froch, a thrilling points win for the Dane in 2010.

Skills

But 'The Viking Warrior remains confident he can inflict another defeat on Froch in front of his own fans.

"Yeah I feel like I've been working on my technical boxing skills very much for the last two years and that's why I have stopped my opponents so fast and I feel good this way," said Kessler.

"I feel I have a new style but better. I think it's better for Carl now.

"I like Carl because he wants to fight and I want to fight too, but I'm ready for 12 rounds.

"He's not a fighter who wants to grab me and punch and grab. He wants to fight and I'm here to fight him like he went to Denmark to fight me."

Kessler laughed off suggestions that Froch will force a late knockout as he expects to be the last man standing if there is a stoppage.

"Late stoppage, forget it. That's not going to happen," he said. "I'm going to have the late stoppage, if one of us is going to have one."
