But, although there will be plenty who don't believe him, the Olympic gold medallist insists that, at the age of 41, he has reached his peak and is finally ready to "finish my journey".
The much-maligned heavyweight was back drinking in the last chance saloon as he took part in Prizefighter's international heavyweights event last weekend, but - having won the tournament for a second time - believes he can now prove his world title credentials.
Coming in at under 17 stone, Harrison claimed to be in "the shape of my life" and certainly proved the class of the eight-man field at London's York Hall as he beat all three of his opponents with something to spare to cruise to the crown.
First opponent Claus Bertino was stopped in 33 seconds, Martin Rogan was given a boxing lesson as Harrison avenged his narrow 2008 defeat to the Irishman, while final opponent, American Derric Rossy, was brushed aside in a couple of rounds by the dominant southpaw.
Following his success, Harrison spoke to the Sky Sports cameras and insisted that having rediscovered his "mojo" he was now looking for a world title shot in 2013... but haven't we heard this before Audley?!
