Joe Louis (L) and Max Schmelling (R) had a great rematch, says Bob Mee

It's official.

Carl Froch and George Groves will fight in a much-anticipated rematch on May 31, live inside a football stadium and live on Sky Sports Box Office.

If tussle two is as entertaining war one - which Froch emerged triumphant from thanks to a contentious ninth-round stoppage in November - we are in for a treat.

But sensational rematches have always been a huge part of the sport.

Boxing historian Bob Mee and Boxing News Editor Tris Dixon - who both expect Froch to edge Groves in their second contest - had their say on the issue when they entered the Ringside studio...

"If a fight is good, close or controversial people want to see it again. It's happened throughout time and we had a great rematch with Jack Dempsey-Gene Tunney, while Max Schmelling-Joe Louis was an amazing rematch that, because of World War II, became one of the most political fights of all time. We also had Sugar Ray Robinson-Randy Turpin and, going into the modern British era, Nigel Benn-Chris Eubank in front of 42,000 people at Old Trafford."

"Sometimes rematches just back up the first fight - George Foreman beating Joe Frazier, Shane Mosley beating Oscar de la Hoya - but others are different. I remember Micky Ward and Arturo Gatti had this really violent first fight which Ward won but then Gatti mixed up his style second time around and earned the victory."

But we want to know what YOU think is the greatest boxing rematch of all time? Share your views using the feedback form below - and don't forget to let us know what you expect to transpire in the Froch-Groves sequel, too.
