Champion: Stevenson makes the first defence of his WBC light-heavyweight title
Tony Bellew will be paying close attention from ringside as Adonis Stevenson defends his WBC light-heavyweight title against Tavoris Cloud in Montreal, live on Sky Sports 1 HD.
The Liverpudlian has been penned in to challenge the winner for the belt in the Bell Centre in Canada in November, and hard-hitting Stevenson is odds-on (1/3) with Sky Bet to come through his first defence.
Stevenson pulled off a shock by knocking out Chad Dawson in the opening round in June, snatching the belt from the American after stepping up from super-middleweight.
Such is the Canadian's power, Sky Bet go as short as 14/1 about Stevenson winning inside the opening minute, having taken just 76 seconds to destruct Dawson, a market normally priced up at around 80/1.
It's now his turn to carry the weight of expectation as the favourite, but his opponent Cloud, a 9/4 chance, has been labelled fortunate to even be in a position to challenge on the back of two scrutinised performances.
Having gained the benefit of the doubt on a split decision win over Gabriel Campillo in February last year, Cloud followed that up by losing his IBF light-heavyweight title to Bernard Hopkins in March.
In contrast, Stevenson's last win proved to be his most explosive. Indeed, 18 of his wins (21-1) have come by way of knockout and 10 of which have come in the first round, a 12/1 shot on this occasion.
Cloud has gone the distance in five of his last six fights, suggesting his best chance of winning is on points (9/1) but he'll have to deny Stevenson the opportunity to throw his trademark left cross, the punch that wiped out Dawson.
Surprisingly, Cloud to win in the eighth at 40/1 has been the most popular choice in Sky Bet's individual round market, with punters hoping for big returns on a potential upset.
However, six out of Stevenson's eight fights that have been scheduled for 12 rounds have gone under six rounds, making 11/8 on that familiar outcome the stand out bet.
Safest bet: Under six rounds (11/8)
Best outside bet: Cloud to win on points (9/1)
Most popular bet with Sky Bet's customers: Cloud to win (9/4)
Most popular bet in individual round betting: Cloud Round 8 (40/1)
Biggest long shot: Cloud to win in round 12 (66/1)
