Gennady Golovkin's promoter has revealed he will explore other options while Carl Froch stalls on deciding whether to retire.
Middleweight sensation Golovkin, who is unbeaten in 33 fights and has stopped 30 of his opponents to date, has previously stated he is open to the idea of moving up to super-middleweight to face Froch.
Despite the possibility of filling Wembley again, former IBF and WBA champion Froch has been less forthcoming and his famous victory over domestic rival George Groves at the venue a year ago may be the last time he is seen in a professional boxing ring.
Golovkin was in action back in May when he halted Willie Munroe Jr in six and as he continues to cement his reputation as one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the world, his promoter Tom Loeffler is looking at alternatives to the super-fight with Froch.
Loeffler told ESPN: "Eddie [Hearn] says that Froch hasn't decided yet if he is going to fight or not, so I am checking all other options to see what is the best one for GGG.
"Hopefully, we should have something more firm in the next couple of weeks."
Nottingham's Froch has been defeated just twice in a stellar career - suffering unanimous points defeats to Mikkel Kessler and Andre Ward, who returns from 18 months out of the ring to face Paul Smith live on Sky Sports on June 20.
