An overview of Kevin Mitchell's attempt to take Jorge Linares' WBC lightweight crown, live on Sky Sports Box Office on Saturday.
Kevin Mitchell has suffered the agony of world title defeats in the past - to Michael Katsidis and Ricky Burns. This time around, claims the Dagenham fighter, is different because he's cleaned up his lifestyle.
He faces the rangy Venezuelan Linares - a three-weight world champion who has shown he retains punching power at lightweight by knocking out his last two opponents in two and four rounds.
Mitchell himself has been in impressive form and a career-best showing against Daniel Estrada in January has given his supporters real hope he can hand the champion a fourth career defeat and fulfil what he feels is his destiny.
There was slight concern in the Linares camp at the weigh-in as the visitor weighed in four ounces too heavy, but he was back within the hour having shed more than enough and ensure the defence goes ahead.
Mitchell: "I'll rock the gaff - watch!"
Jim Watt's prediction: Mitchell on points
"It looks like Kevin has the toughest job out of the three world title fights. Linares is a really quality operator. He's also been a bit vulnerable as well, but the problem is - so has Mitchell in the past."
Paul Smith's prediction: Mitchell on points
"I have watched him come through the amateurs and I have been a massive fan of his. Mitchell is my favourite British fighter still to this day. On his day he would give anyone a run for his money."
Carl Froch's prediction: Mitchell on points
"I actually think Kevin Mitchell has improved since that Michael Katsidis loss. He's reunited with Tony Sims and he has looked better and better. I've always been a fan."
