Amir Khan: Considering his options

Sky Bet

Amir Khan expects to be a stronger fighter at 147lbs and is already feeling more comfortable at the higher weight.

Despite the disappointment of missing out on a Floyd Mayweather fight and the biggest payday of his career, the British fighter still has plenty of options to consider.

Khan could face Luis Collazo, Robert Guerrero or a rematch with Danny Garcia for his welterweight debut.

"I've already moved up to 147lbs," said the 27-year-old from Bolton, who is back in the United Kingdom training.

"Weight making can affect a fighter, I was killing myself to make weight [at 140lbs], going back to the Zab Judah fight when I was first having problems.

"I think now being at 147lbs its only going to make me stronger, more healthier and happier when I go into a fight.

"The speed's gonna be there, the power, and the hunger as well. I won't be tired or weak, so I'm excited. The future holds a lot of things for me," concluded the boxer.

Khan is expected to announce his first opponent of 2014 in the next few weeks.
