Scott Quigg: Will make a swift return to action on the big Manchester show

Sky Bet

Scott Quigg will defend his WBA super-bantamweight title on the Carl Froch vs George Groves undercard on November 23.

Quigg has been added to the star-studded show at the Phones 4U Arena in Manchester and will take on an opponent to be named next week.

The Bury banger had his interim bauble upgraded to a full title before he entered the ring against crafty Cuban Yoandris Salinas last weekend, a fight which ended in a majority draw.

"It's great to be out again so soon and in Manchester too," said Quigg. "I was a bit gutted not to get the 'W' against Salinas as I felt that I deserved it.

"It was a tough fight but one that I felt that I came on very strong in at the end.

"That fight is in the past now though and I'm ready to defend my belt and do so in style.

"It's going to be a massive occasion with Carl and George's fight set to be one of the biggest in Britain for a long time, so I'm thrilled to be involved."

Another fight confirmed for the Manchester show is a British lightweight showdown between current champion Martin Gethin and former belt holder Anthony Crolla.
