Brian Rose will take on durable Bulgarian Alexey Ribchev when he returns to action at the Bolton Arena on June 29.
The Lonsdale belt holder (21-1-1) made the successful step up in class when beating Joachim Alcine in April, and is looking to establish himself on the world scene.
"He's a seasoned pro but on paper it's not one of the toughest fights I've had this year because I've had some really tough fights."
The fight against Ribchev (14-6-1) - who is coming off successive losses - will take place as part of a huge undercard on the show headlined by Gavin Rees v Anthony Crolla.
"I was supposed to be fighting Anthony Mundine but it fell through," Rose said.
"It shows how far I've come and I'm looking forward to the 29th of June against an opponent who has never been stopped.
"He's a seasoned pro but on paper it's not one of the toughest fights I've had this year because I've had some really tough fights.
"But I'll not be looking past him and I hope to put in a good, crisp performance."
Promoter Eddie Hearn said the fight against Mundine almost came off.
"We had a chance to fight Mundine for the 'interim' WBA title and it was a close one, while HBO were interested in putting him on the Golovkin-Macklin undercard," he said.
"So already things are moving in the right direction and the key is to get him out as often as possible."
The bill will also feature the return to Sky Sports of unbeaten super-bantamweight Scott Quigg in a 10-round contest, while there are also outings for young upstarts Tom Stalker and Martin J Ward.
