Cleverly has become embroiled in a war of words with Froch after agreeing to spar with Kessler ahead of the unification clash at London's 02 Arena, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
The Welsh light-heavyweight was impressed with Kessler's ring skills and expects a battling display from the Dane in what could be his last appearance in the ring.
But the 26-year-old has set aside his rivalry with Froch and refuses to be swayed towards either boxer as the big fight approaches.
"It's going to be a good fight, they're both evenly matched," said the WBO champion.
"They had a war in the first fight and it's going to be a pretty similar second fight.
"It's 50/50, really. It's too hard to call this one but I think that's what makes it so interesting.
"Kessler's looking sharp, looking good, some nice movement and he's up for it. He knows he's got to win this otherwise he could be looking at retirement, he's going to give it everything, for sure."
