Lucas Matthysse is looking forward to a fight with Danny Garcia after knocking Lamont Peterson out inside three rounds.

With Golden Boy Promotions in control of the majority of top light-welterweights, a match-up between the gunslingers looks sure to be made later this year.

And Matthysse, who has only two contentious points defeats on his 36-fight record, will go into the fight on the crest of a wave after flooring Peterson three times on the way to victory in Atlantic City.

"I know I'm the best at 140lb because nobody has dominated Peterson they I have," he said through a translator.

"Golden Boy will get me the Danny Garcia fight and I'm ready to fight him.

"I am grateful for the two points losses as I know I have to win by knockout like I did today."

Peterson admitted he was second best on the night.

"There's nothing physically wrong, I feel good I'm just upset that I lost," he said. "I got a little lazy with the jab and relaxed too much.

"He hit me with a good shot and finished the job. I recovered from the first knockdown but he hurt me again and the ref did the right thing.

"I guess tonight he was (the better man) he won the fight fair, I have no complaints."
