Eddie Hearn is unlikely to pitch Carl Froch in with Bernard Hopkins
Eddie Hearn does not expect a fight between Carl Froch and Bernard Hopkins to come to pass.
Hopkins, at 48 the oldest world champion in history, said last week Froch was 'top of my wish list' despite the American now campaigning in a higher weight class.
But that difference in weight - the Briton is a natural super-middleweight - means a fight between the pair is unlikely.
And Froch also must take care of Mikkel Kessler later this month before considering his future options.
"It's flattering," said promoter Hearn. "Hopkins understands the value of a fight with Froch, but I don't think Carl needs to fight at catchweight.
"Nathan Cleverly has already called him out but Carl walks around just above 12st and he'd be at a big disadvantage.
"I wouldn't say it's a fight I wouldn't make but it's not one that immediately jumps out at me. We'll see how Carl gets on against Kessler and we'll see which big fights appeal."
