Brian Rose will have the WBO inter-continental title at stake when he takes on Joachim Alcine in Blackpool on April 20.

The British champion is looking to make a gradual step up to world level, with current WBO champion Zaurbek Baysangurov in his sights.

"We've been waiting for this moment for years," said Rose. "I'm back fighting on Sky and in a proper fight with big things on the horizon.

"Beating Alcine and landing that Inter-Continental belt puts me right in the picture for the big one with Baysangurov and that's given me even more incentive to win well against Joachim.

"I've got dreams of being a world champion and I never thought I'd be in this position but I am ready for world level and I'll prove that on April 20."

Rose v Alcine headlines an exciting night of boxing at Blackpool's Winter Gardens, live on Sky Sports, with Lee Selby providing chief support on his first fight under the Matchroom banner.

Selby is likely to defend his Commonwealth title against an opponent set to be named in the next few days.
