Devon Alexander insists he will fight Kell Brook next despite rumours of a potential clash with Floyd Mayweather.
Alexander recently pulled out of his IBF welterweight title defence against Brook scheduled for next Saturday with an arm injury.
That excuse came under fire when Mayweather then tweeted he was in talks with his fellow American for a fight in May.
However, that tweet appears to be little more than high jinks by Mayweather, with Alexander looking forward to taking on Sheffield's Brook.
"Everybody went crazy over the tweet," he told IFilmLondon at the weigh-in for the Adrien Broner vs Gavin Rees fight in Atlantic City. "My obligation is to fight Kell Brook and that's what I'm going to do.
"We'll be back in the gym next week, my arm is feeling much better. I needed to push it back a few weeks as I want to be 100 percent.
"I know they were gutted - I didn't mean to gut anybody. I never cancelled a fight in my 25 career fights, so for me to cancel it had to be something serious.
"He (Brook) is an okay fighter. He has the potential to be a good fighter but now is my time, I have my mojo going and it's just the wrong time for him."
