Kal Yafai took his record to 7-0 with victory over Mexican Gonzalo Garcia at the Civic Hall in Wolverhampton.

The bantamweight prospect was not at his best on his first outing as a pro in front of his 'home' fans, but got the job done in four rounds.

Yafai banked the first three with the better action but Garcia was not going anywhere and threw plenty of his own shots.

It was a frustrating time for the youngster but he turned up the pace in the fourth, landing sweet left hands to leave the visitor looking weary as the round came to close.

Nevertheless, it came as some surprise when Garcia's corner pulled their man out before the start of the fifth, having presumably earned his pesos.

It was subsequently revealed Yafai had suffered a hand injury since his last fight but it is not considered to be serious and he could still appear in America next month.
