Two-time heavyweight title challenger Tony Thompson has been confirmed as David Price's next opponent.
The American is coming off his second loss in four years to Wladimir Klitschko but represents another step up the ladder for the British and Commonwealth champion.
Price has enjoyed a stellar 2012 with impressive knockout victories over former domestic title holders Sam Sexton, Audley Harrison and Matt Skelton.
However, 2013 could be even bigger for the popular Liverpudlian, starting at the Echo Arena on February 23.
"This is the right fight at the right time for David and one where a win will propel him even higher," said promoter Frank Maloney.
"Thompson still has ambition and I am certain that he will come to win and score a major upset."
Price is currently ranked ninth in the WBC rankings while the IBF have Thompson at number 10.
On the undercard, unbeaten flyweight Kevin Satchell will defend his British and Commonwealth titles against Belfast's Luke Wilton.
