Lee Haskins: No longer the European champion
Bristol's Lee Haskins lost his European bantamweight title when he was stopped in the eighth round of his fight with Stephane Jamoye.
The former domestic super-flyweight boss made the brighter start and floored the Belgian early on before appearing to tire in a fight of an unrelenting pace.
After going down in the second, Jamoye hit back in front of his home fans and opened up a cut above Haskins' right eye in the fourth round.
By halfway, the notoriously tricky southpaw was warned for holding and both fighters struggled to maintain the early pace.
Haskins went down to a body shot and although both were visibly tired it was the Briton who seemed to be getting the worst of it.
And in the eighth session Haskins went to the floor early on and was unable to find a way back as Jamoye finished it with another power shot to the body.
The win gives Jamoye sweet revenge after losing his previous European title shot against Jamie McDonnell to a narrow points verdict in Doncaster.
