Amir Khan admits Manny Pacquiao's nasty knockout against Juan Manuel Marquez has given him even more food for thought ahead of his clash with Carlos Molina on Saturday.

Khan bids to bounce back from his defeat by Danny Garcia against the unbeaten Molina in Los Angeles.

"This is why boxing is the best sport in the world - and the toughest sport in the world - because you just don't know what your opponent is going to bring to the table."

Despite his 17-0-1 record, Molina goes in as a big underdog, having only seven stoppages on his record but Khan says there is no chance he will be underestimating him.

"He is seen as the massive underdog but I never treat anyone as an underdog going into a fight," Khan said. "Look at Manny against Juan Manuel Marquez and Andre Berto against Robert Guerrero. I tipped the guys who lost.

"This is why boxing is the best sport in the world - and the toughest sport in the world - because you just don't know what your opponent is going to bring to the table.

"I got caught with a shot against Garcia. Look at how Manny got caught the other day by a guy he should have beaten. That's the sport we're in, where one punch can change a fight.

"Molina is a tough guy, he comes forward, he's confident because he's never tasted defeat before.

"People can say all sorts, such as he's never fought anyone as good as me, but he's had a lot fewer fights like me and he's stepping up to world class so he's going to be training twice as hard and putting himself through the pain barrier.

"Having brothers who have been champions and won world titles is only going to give him that extra push. We know he's dangerous, we know he's going to come at us.

"Having the fight in LA, his backyard, always motivates a fighter that little bit more too. It's only going to lift him. Look what it did to Lamont Peterson when I fought him in Washington last year. I'm sure it will motivate Molina the same way."
