Amir Khan's comeback fight against Carlos Molina has been confirmed for December 15 in Los Angeles.

Khan is trying to rebuild his career after a shock stoppage defeat to Danny Garcia in July and promoters Golden Boy will stage his clash against unbeaten American Molina at the Los Angeles Sports Arena.

The Bolton fighter parted company with trainer Freddie Roach after a second straight defeat and Virgil Hunter will be in his corner as he attempts to force his way back into world title contention.

Khan dropped a controversial points decision to Lamont Peterson in December and was then halted in alarming fashion by Garcia in the fifth round of their light-welterweight unification clash.

These back-to-back losses have prompted Khan to address his defensive skills, with Hunter being brought in to change the British fighter's all-action fighting style.

Molina could prove a testing opponent for Khan as he has picked up 17 wins with one draw, although he will have to step up from the lightweight division to face the British fighter.
