Julio Cesar Chavez Jr: Motivated for a fight to remember

Sky Bet

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr has declared that he wants Saturday's WBC middleweight title fight against Sergio Martinez "to be one the fans remember for the rest of their lives".

The 26-year-old Mexican will meet Martinez on Saturday in Las Vegas where he will bring a 46-0-1 record with 32 knockouts into the bout.

And having won the WBC belt after defeating Sebastian Zbik, Chavez Jr is determined to turn on the style after a war of words with Martinez in the build up.

"It's great motivation," said Chavez. "We've been going back and forth. He's been insulting me. I just want the fight to be great.

"I want the fight to be one the fans remember for the rest of their lives. And I'm going to give them that."

However Martinez (49-2-2) is the current holder of the "The Ring" middleweight title - and he is in no mood to let Chavez Jr have things his own way.

"I'm ready for everything to come - media, everything. This is just another step to become pound-for-pound number one," he said.
