David Price: Liverpool heavyweight unbeaten in 11 pro fights
Liverpool heavyweight David Price is confident victory over John McDermott in his home city on Saturday will be a stepping stone to bigger things.
Price, the 2008 Olympic bronze medallist, has won his first 11 contests since turning pro, including nine knockouts.
Another win over the experienced McDermott would make Price the mandatory challenger for Tyson Fury's British title.
"It's the biggest fight so far of my professional career, it's for the English title and a final eliminator for the British title held by Fury," Price told Sky Sports News HD.
"What happens after this fight is the big thing but I have to concentrate on Saturday and getting the job done against a really good opponent in John McDermott."
Price confirmed he is now back to full fitness after a rib injury.
"The rib is fine, everything else is fine. My preparation has gone perfectly," he said.
And Price would have no fears over a future showdown with Fury, a man he beat as an amateur.
"He's had more professional experience than me and is British champion, so he must be doing something right," Price said of his rival.
"But I see a lot of flaws in Tyson Fury and hopefully I'll get the chance to expose them."
