Andre Ward says he is ready for business in the countdown to the final of the Super Six against Carl Froch at the weekend.

Ward, the undefeated WBA super-middleweight champion, is looking to unify the titles against the WBC belt holder in Atlantic City.

"I want to fight the best, I want to beat the best. Every fight I'm in the best shape of my life. "

And the American said there will be no excuses from either side after the big showdown.

"There's been a lot of talk - too much talk," he said. "This is my favourite time, when it's time to get down and show down. I love big moments like this.

"Carl Froch is the self-proclaimed best fighter in England, I love it - I want to fight the best, I want to beat the best. Every fight I'm in the best shape of my life.

Not favourite

"This is the final of the Super Six but every fight we put in the work mentally, and physically. We're extremely well prepared.

"People keep talking to me about being the favourite. We're not the favourite. I still have that chip on my shoulder. And that's how I prepare.

"Carl Froch has made references to my (lack of) toughness, my physicality, and that maybe I'll try to squeak a victory. You don't squeak victories out here, you take them. And that's what I'm prepared to do.

"I'm ready for this fight. There should be no excuses."

Froch countered he is ready to let his fists do the talking in the early hours of Sunday morning.

"The time for talking is most definitely over," said the Briton. "I'm going to do my talking in the ring on December 17.

"It's a cliche, but trust me, I've had a great response from the British fans - and the American fans.

"Hundreds, nearly a thousand actually, of people are flying over from England and it's taken me by surprise, being so close to Christmas.

"They have dug deep and I want to say a big thanks to them and say I guarantee you will not be disappointed with what you see on Saturday night."
