George Groves believes he will have won his war with James DeGale long before a punch has been thrown.

The Hayemaker protege is convinced he has got his bitter rival rattled ahead of their British Super-Middleweight title showdown on May 21, live on Sky Box Office HD.

The pair have been trading insults and winding each other up on YouTube ever since the eagerly-awaited grudge match was announced.

DeGale has been leading the way while Groves has been preparing out in Miami with David Haye and trainer Adam Booth.

But the challenger, who holds the Commonwealth title, is convinced he has the psychological edge over DeGale and the easiest part of the fight will be when the bell finally sounds at the 02 Arena.

"This fight is as much mental as it is physical and I'm winning the mental battle," he told Sky Sports News HD as soon as he landed back at Heathrow.

"By the time we get in the ring, he'll be destroyed and all I'll have to do is take him out."

Groves has been sparring top super-middleweight Andre Dirrell out in Miami, where David Haye has also begun preparations for his own summer showdown with Wladimir Klitschko.

"By the time we get in the ring, he'll be destroyed and all I'll have to do is take him out."
George Groves Quotes of the week

DeGale claims Groves is trying to copy his illustrious gymmate and has abandoned his own style - that brought him success in their one meeting as amateurs in 2001.

But the man himself says is convinced he can make it two wins from two, providing he sticks to his gameplan.

"Technically this won't be my hardest fight," he said.

"Emotionally it might be, so as long as I keep my head and do what I'm doing in the gym it will be an easy night's work and people will be singing my praises after."
