"I know he doesn't like me blowing his trumpet but you haven't even seen the best of Ricky Burns."
Trainer Billy Nelson Quotes of the week

The Ghanaian earned his shot at the Scot on Saturday night after stunning Paul Appleby on the undercard of Burns' latest victory against Andreas Evensen.

Burns told Sky Sports News he is aware that Laryea poses a threat having claimed 11 of his 14 wins by stoppage, and has vowed to close it out in style if he gets a chance.

"We've been bringing up taller sparring partners so It's just a case of taking what we've been doing in the gym, and putting it in the ring.

"We all know he's got a good jab, and obviously he's got a reach advantage over me as well.

"But I've got a good jab as well but standing face to face with him I thought he was a lot taller than what he is.

"I think the first couple of rounds it's going to be a good boxing match but if I get the hint that I'm hurting him at all I'm going to get him out of there."

Shock

The champion's trainer Billy Nelson is convinced his ever-improving charge will come out ono top at the Braehead Arena in Glasgow.

"Joseph Laryea has never fought anybody like Ricky Burns," he said. "He is in for one big shock on Saturday night.

"Ricky has speed, accuracy of punch, and his power is developing fight by fight. He has a water-tight defence and amazingly fast hands.

"I know he doesn't like me blowing his trumpet but you haven't even seen the best of Ricky Burns.

"There is a whole lot more to come from him, that's all I am going to say to you and hopefully Joseph will see it on Saturday night."
