Kell Brook called out Amir Khan after defending his IBF welterweight belt in style

Kell Brook called for a fight with Amir Khan after defending his IBF welterweight title with a stoppage win over Jo Jo Dan in Sheffield

The 28-year-old champion floored his mandatory challenger on four occasions, forcing the Romanian’s corner to call a halt to the fight after the fourth round.

Speaking afterwards, Brook set his sights on a big-name fight in the summer and remains determined to settle his rivalry with Khan.

"If Amir Khan’s watching, give everyone what they want."

He said: “Who does everyone want me to fight? Do they want me to fight Khan? (Juan Manuel) Marquez, Brandon Rios, bring them on. I’m world champion. I just want to entertain all you guys.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn still hopes to stage a Brook-Khan clash this year, putting forward a possible date for another big domestic clash at Wembley.

“Well listen, there’s a little venue available on June 13th,” he told Sky Sports. “If Amir Khan’s watching, give everyone what they want.

“Everybody wants that. Amir Khan hasn’t got an opponent. He’s talking about fighters that are a much lesser scale than Kell Brook.

“It’s the biggest pay day of his career. It’s the biggest pay day available. It’s for a world title.”

Issuing a further challenge to the Bolton man, Brook said: "If you're watching, come and get in this ring with me.

“I know you’re delicate around the whiskers, I’ll take you out.”

Khan, who this week told Sky Sports he wanted to face Miguel Cotto, sent out a message of congratulations to Brook on Twitter.

"Well done Kell nice to see you back in the ring #EasyWork."

Brook had battled back to fitness after a shocking machete attack last year had left him with a life-threatening leg injury.

Carl Froch said that he thinks Amir Khan is worried about Kell Brook’s right hand

After receiving a hero’s welcome in his hometown, Brook admitted it had been an emotional return to the ring at the Motorpoint Arena.

He said: "It was truly amazing to walk out in front of all my fans and I didn't think I would ever box again. Here I am filling arenas. I can't put into words how much it means to be back and defending a world title. It means everything to me.

"It was hard there holding it together and seeing everyone there on their phones. This is where I belong and I'm sorry that I kept you waiting but I hope you had a good night and enjoyed world championship boxing. I'm back baby.

"I caught him with some good clean shots but he kept getting back up. I've been out for a while. There's much more to come from me. That's just to knock the cobwebs off and I will be back out in June in a massive fight. I'm back."

When asked about his fitness he said: "The leg feels fine. The leg feels as good as the other leg. There is no problem with the leg."
