Floyd Mayweather Jr has poured cold water on recent reports claiming a mega-fight with Manny Pacquiao has been agreed.
A bout pitting two of the greatest fighters of their generation appeared to be edging closer after the pair met and exchanged phone numbers at a recent NBA basketball game.
Reports surfaced this weekend suggesting Pacquiao had agreed terms on a contract to fight the ‘Pretty Boy’, but speaking at half-time during the NBA All-Star game, Mayweather denied a deal had been reached.
“No, that's not true,” the 37-year-old told American satellite television network TNT. "I haven't signed yet, and he hasn't signed yet.
"It's just been speculations and rumours. But hopefully we can make the fight happen."
Pound-for-pound king Mayweather has 47 wins from as many professional contests and still has two bouts remaining on a lucrative deal with US network Showtime.
