Ringside: George Groves and James DeGale meet again - and the tables are turned

James DeGale called George Groves 'deluded' when they met again.

He is still calling out Carl Froch. Remember that he used to call me deluded!
DeGale on Groves

One of boxing's longest and bitterest rivalries returned to Ringside for the first time in three-and-a-half years.

Groves won the fight back in 2011 and has stolen the limelight, even though he is no closer to winning a world title since losing two explosive encounters with Carl Froch.

And DeGale made the most of it, flipping the script back to the first time they went face-to-face ahead of their showdown.

"Let’s not forget this guy has fought for the world title twice and has been knocked out twice," he told Ringside.

"And the second time was a very bad knockout - and those kind of knockouts can seriously damage people's careers.

"But he is still calling out Carl Froch. Remember that he used to call me deluded!  Remember that?"

The pair are now back on the same Sky Sports Box Office show, Cleverly-Bellew II on November 22, but neither will forget that British and Commonwealth super-middleweight title fight at the O2 Arena in London.

Groves won on a close split decision and while DeGale still insists that "everyone" he has spoken to thought he had won it, the pair did not rule out a rematch.

But one of them says the outcome will be the same.

"Totally different kind of fight," said Groves when asked how the rematch would go.

"I will still win. I'll win much more convincingly next time because that is how I will choose to fight.

"James says he thinks he won that fight, but I know I won that fight! There is a difference between believing and knowing."
