Carl Froch is keeping us all waiting - especially George Groves, says Glenn McCrory

An Andre Ward return would fill Wembley...

Car Froch

Carl Froch is the number one in the super-middleweight division. The number-one pull and the number-one entertainer.

Yes, Andre Ward is ranked number one in the world but Froch is the biggest pull out there. By a long way.

All boxers have their own dreams and Carl has pretty much realised all his, except Vegas. Everyone wants to see their name up in lights as they top the bill and we all know, if you love him or hate him, the number-one boxer in the world does it every time

If he wants to be the full-on number one then there is only one way to go next - but I am not sure Ward is on his radar. And given the promotional issues he is having, and the fact he hasn't even boxed in Las Vegas yet, it looks a million miles away.

Carl hasn't sat down and worked out where he goes next but I think the Vegas dream is still the one thing that gets him going.

There is talk of James DeGale early next year but having battered the man that beat him not so long ago – twice – then I get the feeling another domestic fight would not get him going.

Ward beat him fair and square out in the States so why not get him over here to Britain, see if he can make it 2-0 - or hopefully 1-1.

I can tell Andre now would make more money coming here to fight Froch rather than take on anyone in that division, even at the MGM Grand.

If he came over here he would not only know he is going to be in for a fight but also he will find himself fighting at Wembley Stadium. Froch-Ward II would be the biggest fight the American can get. Maybe that is my dream!

Andy Scott is joined by Glenn McCrory to discuss George Groves's victory over Christopher Rebrasse.

All boxers have their own dreams and Carl has pretty much realised all his, except Vegas. Everyone wants to see their name up in lights as they top the bill and we all know, if you love him or hate him, the number-one boxer in the world does it every time; Floyd Mayweather.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr is the one they are looking for and he has a good defence, but it also looks like quite a comfortable fight for him, once that bell sounds. The razzmatazz and pleasure that will come with it are probably tougher to deal with! He does not want to take on Ward on top of that.

I think he needs something to excite him, that's for sure.

Unbreakable

I have a feeling Arthur Abraham will hold onto the WBO belt on Saturday, Anthony Dirrell is the WBC champion and if Froch wants to add a third belt to the collection, it would be no problem at all.

But that does NOT mean we will see him and George Groves do it again. Maybe, just maybe, if Groves gets Dirrell and smashes him to pieces in spectacular fashion. Maybe. But probably not.

George Groves exchanges words with Carl Froch

I have to be honest and say I would have reacted the same way as Carl did if George called me out on Saturday, I’d have bitten. He was clearly shocked and I don't blame him - because Groves shocks us all!

Groves’ confidence seems unbreakable and he is clearly thick-skinned but the bottom line is he was battered twice by the same guy, yet he still wants more!

I am assuming it was pure banter, but even so, I'd have been stunned if I was in Froch's position thinking 'hang on, the last time I saw you, you were flat out at my feet after the punch of my career'.

George Groves banished his Wembley demons and wasted no time calling out Carl Froch again.

I think it was tongue-in-cheek from George, but maybe he went a little too far once he saw the reaction at ringside. Everyone knows the story is over between them.

There was controversy in the first fight, and the referee stepping in probably set up the soap opera for the second, but does anyone really think we will get a third one? Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank never did and their hatred and bitterness gripped the nation.

I think we will see Froch fight again at least one more time. Even without Groves calling him out.
