BBL Championship: London Lions lose to leaders Esh Group Eagles Newcastle

London Lions fell to their first loss in the BBL Championship on Sunday when they were defeated 69-65 by Esh Group Eagles Newcastle at the Copper Box Arena.
Darius Defoe collected 19 points and 12 boards for the Eagles, who stayed at the top of the league standings after improving to a 6-1 record.
Elsewhere, Leicester Riders bounced back from last week's defeat by Glasgow Rocks to claim a 83-54 win over Bristol Flyers, with Pavol Losonsky collecting 19 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Leicester.
Manchester Giants recorded their first away win of the season with a 92-84 win over Durham Wildcats while Leeds Force were beaten 73-69 by Plymouth University Raiders at the Plymouth Pavilions.
In the other game, Cheshire Phoenix won their second match of the campaign as they snatched a 89-86 win over Glasgow Rocks in Scotland, with Demond Watt and Mike Di Nunno claiming 26 point apiece.
