Philadelphia 76ers claimed their first victory in 27 matches with a commanding 123-98 success over Detroit Pistons.

Having lost their last 26 matches - tying the record set by Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2010/11 season - the Sixers were determined not to go down in infamy and they snapped their streak in emphatic style.

Michael Carter-Williams and Thaddeus Young each finished with a total of 21 points to earn their side's first win since January 29.

One streak that shows no sign of ending, however, is San Antonio's winning run, with the Spurs clocking up their 17th successive triumph after beating New Orleans Pelicans 96-80.

For the second game in a row, Marco Belinelli finished as top-scorer with a haul of 18, with four of his team-mates also making it into double figures, as the Pelicans suffered their first defeat in six matches against the Western Conference leaders.

Los Angeles Clippers sealed their place in the play-offs for a third season in a row after Chris Paul inspired them to a 118-107 victory over Houston Rockets.

Paul notched 30 points and 12 assists and Jamal Crawford contributed 22 points to end the Rockets' five-game winning run.

Washington Wizards are within touching distance of joining the Clippers in the play-offs after edging out Atlanta Hawks 101-97.

John Wall led the way with 25 points for the Wizards, who will seal their place in the post-season if New York Knicks lose to Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

Chris Bosh top scored with 14 points as Miami Heat beat Milwaukee Bucks 88-67, while Dallas Mavericks squeaked past Sacramento Kings 103-100.
