The Thunder found themselves 31-19 down after the first 12 minutes, but Durant's 27 points and 11 rebounds helped them to victory.
Marcus Thornton had 24 points to lead from the bench for the Kings, who launched a comeback effort of their own in the final quarter but came up just short.
Eighteen points from Kyle Singler led a balanced Detroit offence as the Pistons beat Miami 107-97 to end the Heat's winning streak at 10.
Singler was one of seven Detroit players in double figures, with Andre Drummond, who scored 10, also adding 18 rebounds.
