The Mersey Tigers' woeful losing run continued with an 84-54 thrashing at the hands of Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders in the BBL Championship.

Leicester were already 49-25 ahead at the half-time interval and defended that lead with ease with the help of a game-high 18 points from Jay Couisnard.

The win sees the Riders join the Newcastle Eagles atop the standings, while Mersey remain at the bottom having lost all 21 of their games so far this season.

Leicester, who made their move towards the end of the first quarter and did not look back, have now won four in a row and remain unbeaten at home all season.
