Mersey Tigers once again failed to end their losing run in the BBL Championship as they were condemned to an 88-79 defeat by London Lions.
The Lions took a share of a play-off spot as Jordan Spencer scored 21 points, including five from beyond the three-point arc.
Adrien Sturt added 17 and 9 rebounds but it was the Tigers' Joshua Lockett who led all scorers with 23 points in an attritional contest.
The Tigers have now lost all 20 of their matches this season. The next worse team - Manchester Giants - have won seven games.
The Giants also tasted defeat on Friday Worcester Wolves won 88-75, with both power forward Stanley Ocitti and small forward Alex Owumi scoring 20 points.
Elsewhere, Glasgow Rocks eased to an 87-69 triumph over Cheshire Phoenix thanks in part to 30 points from guard Donald Robinson.
One Health Sharks Sheffield beat Durham Wildcats 88-70, with Micah Williams scoring 26 points.
