LeBron James: 32 points in vain in Miami Heat's defeat
The Miami Heat slumped to a 104-97 away defeat to the Utah Jazz despite a determined second-half fightback.
LeBron James scored 32 points to help the defending NBA champions reduce a 21-point deficit to just two when they pulled within 93-91 in the final few minutes, but the Jazz held firm to inflict a third defeat in four games on Miami on their six-game road trip.
Gordon Hayward scored seven of his 22 points in the final three minutes, while Al Jefferson added 23 and 11 rebounds as Utah (21-19) benefited from their early hard work.
Miami (24-12) embarked on a 21-5 spurt in the fourth quarter to get back into the game after being blown away for the first three quarters.
Hayward responded with a pair of jump shots down the stretch and the Jazz then made free throws as the Heat misfired.
Chris Bosh added 16 points and Dwyane Wade scored 11 for Miami, who were also out-rebounded by a comfortable 40-23 margin.
The Los Angeles Clippers eased past the Memphis Grizzlies 99-73 after reserves Jamal Crawford and Matt Barnes each scored 16 points.
Chicago's Carlos Boozer had 20 points and 13 rebounds and Luol Deng scored 18 points as the Chicago Bulls held Atlanta to a franchise-low 20 points in the first half of a 97-58 victory over the Hawks.
