Leicester Riders consolidated their position at the top of the BBL Championship with a comfortable 79-40 win against struggling Mersey Tigers.
Having claimed a precious but hard-fought success at Manchester Giants just 24 hours earlier, Riders' home match-up against the basement dwelling Tigers always looked the easier fixture on paper - and so it proved.
Riders were relatively slow out of the blocks but a devastating 24-4 second quarter killed off any chances of either a giant-killing, or even just a laboured victory for Rob Paternostro and his team
Connor Washington and Pavol Lasonsky stood out for Riders with the former collecting 24 points on a great shooting night when he made an eye-popping seven triples, whilst the latter completed a double-double of 14-points and 13 rebounds.
Glasgow Rocks gave their hopes of entering the title race a big boost with a 97-84 win at UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders.
The Rocks were always the team on the front foot at the Pavilions and it was unsurprising they emerged with the win since Great Britain forward Kieron Achara was almost unstoppable under the hoop as he bagged 23 points.
Donald Robinson also weighed in with 17 points a great display as the Raiders suffered their third defeat of the season.
