Worcester Wolves: Comfortable win over Sheffield
Worcester Wolves inflicted more misery on One Health Sharks Sheffield with an 82-66 victory on Saturday.
The Yorkshire club have now lost five league matches in their last six games and never recovered after a slow start against the Wolves.
The hosts were always on top, enjoying the better of the opening exchanges and moving 10-6 in front before they were quite literally given a helping hand to increase their advantage when Mike Tuck was called for an unsportsmanlike foul.
That, combined with some slack defensive work by Sharks and an inability to make open shots meant the visitors trailed 24-12 after the first ten minutes of action.
Things briefly deteriorated further at the start of the second quarter, but Atiba Lyons finally got his players to post a meaningful and impressive run as they outscored Wolves 17-5.
Unfortunately the Sharks just couldn't get their three-point shots to drop with any kind of consistency, and that continued to hurt them as they fell 56-43 behind going into the last quarter.
Micah Williams tried his best to get the Sharks back into the game, but Stanley Ocitti claimed a fine double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds in a great night of work for Paul James and his team.
Also on Saturday night, there was jubilation for the fans of Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders as they moved top of the BBL table with a 79-75 overtime win over Chester Jets.
