Glasgow Rocks have bolstered their ranks with the re-signing of Brice Fantazia after a year's absence.

The 6'4" guard was part of the Glasgow Rocks 2010/11 squad and then spent a year away playing for Portuguese side S.C. Lusitania Angro Patrimonio Mundial.

Glasgow head coach Sterling Davis decided to bring back Fantazia in an effort to strengthen his backcourt in the absence of Danny Huffor, who acquired a season-ending knee injury while he was representing the Scottish national team in San Marino at the European Championships for Small Countries.

As an added bonus for Glasgow Rock fans, Fantazia will no longer need a Certificate of Sponsorship to play for the franchise due to his recent acquisition of Portuguese citizenship, giving him automatic EU membership status.

Davis said: "Most fans here will be familiar with Brice and what he can bring.

"He is a hard-nosed guard who will not back down. He spent last season playing for a very good Portuguese side and hopefully will come back with even more experience than when he left.

"He unfortunately dealt with a nagging injury in his debut season in a Rocks jersey, so I'm sure he will be ready to come in and show us a new side of him that he was not able to show before."

Fantazia is due to arrive in Glasgow on September 1 as the Rocks prepare to start their official 2012/13 training camp two days later.
