Tommy Freeman: Notched 40 points in convincing Wolves win
Worcester Wolves ended a two-match losing run in convincing style with a 100-80 victory over the UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders.
The Wolves suffered an agonising 102-100 defeat to BBL Championship leaders Newcastle Eagles last weekend but this win closed the gap at the top to four points, having played two games more than their rivals.
Leading 51-44 at the half and then 86-78 with just over three minutes remaining, three successive three-pointers from Tommy Freeman sparked a 14-2 finish to the game as the hosts ran out comfortable winners.
Freeman ended with a scintillating 40 point haul to lead all scorers in the contest, while Jeremy Bell top scored for the Raiders with 23 points personal.
Afterwards, Wolves Head Coach Paul James was overjoyed with the performance and the result.
"It was a fantastic performance from the guys," he said. "We didn't want to lose three in a row and we had a point to prove and we did just that!"
