British Basketball League: New boys Bristol Flyers claim win over Plymouth Raiders

Bristol Flyers made a winning start to life in the British Basketball League as they clinched a 65-56 victory against Plymouth Raiders.
The Flyers, who were accepted into the top-flight for the new season, secured a hard-fought win at the WISE Arena thanks to 14-point hauls from Doug McLaughin-Williams and Alif Bland.
Gerald Robinson and Deandre Medlock top-scored with 12 points each in a losing effort for the Raiders.
Leicester Riders also got off to a winning start as they strolled to a 104-82 win against Manchester Giants.
Tyler Bernardini top-scored for the Riders with 25 points, while Neil Watson notched 24 points and seven assists in their comprehensive victory.
David Watts scored 16 points and snared six rebounds but could not prevent the Giants from slipping to defeat.
